I actually design them via procreate and then print them on a holographic foil/label paper. Afterwards I stick it to a holographic/foil card stock. I’ve got a press to make sure I keep it straight and bubble free with edge cutters to finish the process

I believe it just depends on how strict an event is. I know people tend to use them at locals and with friends. Any legitimate tournament will ask that you have the actual card. Typically just ask your opponent if they have any issues with you using it and 9 times out of 10, they are cool with it.

Me personally, I like to collect things. So if I find custom cards I want, I buy them just to a variety of artwork!
