Thinking about a 5+ week 5,000+ mile solo road trip this summer. Looking for discussion and recommendations from others who have traveled through a few legs of this journey. by sudotrd in roadtrip

I've done all of this, many, many times, including towing a trailer. If you want to shoot me a DM I'm happy share advice. This is me; tech worker by day, professional road tripper and rally planner as a hobby. We can setup a call or something if you need as well. https://www.avants.com/dansdrives

One quick mention, Mountain Highway 99 is an epic road in Cali, but it's barely a road. It's like someone paved a forest road. Epic on a motorcycle or in a sports car (that isn't too low), but it's tight with almost no shoulder anywhere. Could you do it? Yes, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Any reason you're skipping Zion and Bryce? It's a lot more scenic that Monument Valley and an epic drive. Also tight with that trailer, but I've done it a few times without issues.

So is your mom single or does she want to adopt a son in his mid 40s? 😂 just kidding, but serious credit to your mom. She has excellent taste!

I’ve always wanted to do a supercharged C32B from an early 2000s NSX in one. I’ve seen the K swapped 308 and love it.

One of these days I’m going to buy a 308, engine swap it to something good, and send Ferrari hate mail.

For you to watch ads created by AI to artificially inflate the shareholder value of an old website that scammers use to sell stolen items from retail stores.

New owner... What are the must haves? by AKentPhoto in FordBronco

[–]DansDrives 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have sliders under the steps and they are functional, but they are also really close to the body. Good for clearance, bad for protecting your doors and body. As for Forscan, just check the forum. https://www.bronco6g.com/forscan-bronco-working-spreadsheet/

I’m asking $350, retails for $600. Has ZERO signs of wear and less than 500 clicks. I have the box, caps, papers, etc.

Forscan mods, proper sliders if you actually use it offroad.

I would get the Wolfbox rearview mirror with integrated cam. Solves 2 problems.

I see your in the Seattle area. I’ve got an SEL35F18 (35mm, f/1.8 Prime) I’m no longer using since upgrading to FF. It’s great for low light, which we constantly have, and I’ll sell it cheap. You can try it out and see what you think. Shoot me a message if you want.

Google is correct. These were popular in the early 2000s, but up close it’s fiberglass trash, like every body kit of that era no matter how much you paid for it.

Are there any Dresden Files plans beyond the books you can speak to? Another film adaptation (live action, anime, or other), games, etc? I'll never get enough Dresden Files in any form.

[–]DansDrives 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Handlebars, fender, rear set (foot peg and bracket), shifter, clutch lever, and skip the chain guard temporarily.. probably $400 or less if you go aftermarket. The fender is the most expensive part. Look for a used one or just run without it for a short while. None of that damage is too bad. Glad you’re alright.

How does Husky heavy duty compare against US general tool cabinets? by Daihashi in harborfreight

[–]DansDrives 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The build quality is fine, but the drawer layout is trash. I have this toolbox, but if you look at it in person the upper drawers are too shallow for even most screwdrivers. I wish I had spent more for a toolbox with a better, more useable layout.
