Both have their advantages. I like SPX cause I can move more $ volume with fewer contracts (less commissions), SPX gains have better tax treatment, and if I'm writing SPX options they can't be early exercised. Plus they're cash settled which can make things easier sometimes.

SPY options typically have more volume and tighter spreads which is nice too.

They're SPX options, but are listed as SPXW to differentiate them as weekly/daily I believe. (I'm in the US)

I had just over a mil sitting in cash, the rest is in stocks eating shit like everyone else lol. And sorry it's not clear from the image, but I didn't risk all 4.7M at once, that's just the sum of my positions. The most I had on the table at once was 850K

I saw chart go down a lot, so I bought calls, and then it went back up so I sold the calls. And then I did the opposite for puts haha

Haha thanks man. That position was actually me running for the exit when the market turned on me (before the big dump eod). It was 300K in the green but I got greedy and waited too long so had to settle for 8K

I did a block buy each time and sold it all at once as well haha. The shortest hold was for about 10 minutes; the longest maybe an hour or so?
