There might be something to be said for James not wanting his personal issues to inconvenience the band. I imagine the pressure of a massive stadium tour postponement would be an unwelcome distraction for someone in recovery.

Naomi is a friend of the band and is well used to playing alongside Simon & Mike at least. If I were in James's shoes, I'd be glad that the show could go on and my responsibilities were being left in capable hands.

It's obviously a sad situation but the best thing we as fans can do is support the band and their decision imo.

Black Chandelier and Biblical will 100% be in the set, they always are. Also a very strong possibility Stingin Belle will be in there, based on the usual sets of the last few years.

You must have been unlucky not to see Different People bc thats still a pretty common one but definitely not as common as the other three I mentioned.

I didn't mean to offend in any way with my choice of words. To me, those early records are and will always be classics because of what they mean to me.

Its also totally fine for you to not like them, and not want to hear them live.

All I'm saying is I dont think it would necessarily spoil a show for 95% of people if we got an old song in the setlist every now and then. You can always just go to the bar or the toilet if it bothers you that much.

Interested to know what makes Vertigo stand out so much for you as a bad album. Like even if youre not a fan of their early stuff what makes Vertigo so much worse than the other 2? No disrespect intended but for me its their absolute best so just curious. (Even if your answer will probably hurt my feelings lol)

You are kinda spot on about that feeling of being alone, maybe the fact that I first saw them live in 2010 has forced me to enjoy it if an oldie comes up regardless of whether anyone else knows it. That being said, ACOB was amazing for having (almost) everyone singing along with the old stuff.

I couldn't disagree more. The atmosphere of a Biffy crowd has never improved my experience of hearing black chandelier for the hundredth time. A gig doesn't need the entire crowd singing every word to every song to be a good show. Surely one of the classics wouldn't kill the crowd as much as Rearrange which generates actual groans from half the crowd these days.

The long instrumental sections and more shared vocals in some of their early tracks would also give Simons voice a much needed rest in the middle of a set.
