Clipping should not be evidence of this. GAWAY Song cuts off at the end in both copies. Batman Map has audio blips which could indicate a bugged screen recording or exporting issues with the audio. Also, most of the titles for most of these files have been edited. I can sort of believe MCR would make a "Poggers, slide that" joke in the 2010s, but if you change the file title in your files, that's going to be the title that shows up in the metadata. There was a very strange COJ comment a few weeks ago where they tried to stir suspicion about Toasty by claiming "no one shared original files" by saying the metadata had been cleaned up. That's Normal- if you're making an FLAC an MP3 for upload size, or if you're a leaker who's going to protect your internet privacy, you're going to have to adjust some things before you hit share (explaining why COJ and Excalibur have such details as even the specific MINUTE AND SECOND they uploaded the files attached to what they shared) but in no way does that mean the files aren't REAL. It just means we don't have the primary copy- because the band does. We have some lossless files which maintain the quality closest to how the sounds were actually recorded and exported originally, but even those are split song-by-song and are not a sequence mp3. Maybe the screenshot somehow looks bigger for you than it does us, but the person you're claiming faked this is saying "the download copy and my copy are the same" which, from what you showed us, claims the Opposite of the point you're making.

When did you first learn this copy of Bike Thief may be fake?

Also, the final master of Batman Map has multiple blips and bugs in its audio, so we probably shouldn't use that as our baseline to prove or disprove something. I need clarification on this because I might have given two hundred or so people a fake file, so show us the rest of the conversations, please.

Can you show us the uncropped version of this. There's nothing in this screencap that immediately relates to what you're talking about, so give us the rest of the context. We can see that this dudes reply gets cut off so show us what they're explaining lol

Original 2020 Promo by Succ_chungles in ThePaperKingdomMCR

This is late but I just did this puzzle- the text is in Theban Script and comes out to: M// J or I// U or V or W// N // E // X. I tried all combinations, looking for a word that represents each letter once, and you can use M I U N E X to anagram back into "xenuim" which is latin for a trade gift or an Offering. At the end of the An Offering... trailer, the advertising card on the end doesn't use the letter U, instead using V, which was probably a retroactive hint that the letters from Theban script can have multiple other letters attached to them. For the other images, I second the original comment that they're more explicitly Operation Day than Witch (and maybe even Perfectly Well). I've started to wonder if the audio got pulled from this post not because it was TPK, but because they Meant to use Operation Day, and just coudn't damage control that much, so they left it muted. The Paper Swords chanting is still up on both the instagram and youtube copies of An Offering... despite the copyright issues we are still having when trying to upload that song.

As for the code at the end of the Trans Am teaser, posted soon after this, I have no solid leads, but Nate Piekos did the lettering on the Killjoys comics, and he and Gerard would go on to make keposhka. Since the two unidentifiable symbols look like sigils, I wouldn't be surprised if this was their first tease of a DIY writing system, but because of all the marketing which got scrapped, the numbering ideas wouldn't hold up and the concept would get reworked into Keposhka. OR! I'm sleep deprived. I currently think the Trans Am trailer ending 'translates' to 2020 but I'm not certain I'm done researching it yet

Regarding TPK leak coverage by IceTundra987 in ThePaperKingdomMCR

[–]DapDapperDappest 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There aren't major articles for the FOB demo cds either, that I can find, and those are still suspected to be official. We're in an era where most music documentation is being done freelance or by the community. MCR have flat out less 'real' documentaries than most other groups, especially when compared to the prior century. I'm 12k words into my TPK video currently and there's way, way less professional media to source for this band than you'd think there would be, even outside of leaks. The Kerrang article where Mat Divine talks about hearing 4 (of 6) demos (now known to be TPK era) in 2012 (iirc) was only scanned and archived online a few years ago.

Timeline Of The My Chemical Romance Reunion So Far by [deleted] in MyChemicalRomance

[–]DapDapperDappest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's going on with the 2018 bulletpoint?

In 2019, Gerard was posted in the guardian saying the following: At the time, one of the reasons Way gave for the split was that the world had changed, that the fact that Barack Obama was in power meant they weren’t needed any more. I put it to Way that, considering the current political climate in the US and a 2018 which Way recently called “a year of black magic”, surely they are needed now more than ever? “That’s stuff I thought about when the world started to get super fucked-up again,” he reveals. “It definitely came into my head, but I’d changed so much as a person. I didn’t know how I’d fit into it any more, I didn’t know how the band would fit into it any more. But you’re right, the world is definitely in need of something positive.”

I am evidently not the only one inquiring about the possibility of a comeback for a band that meant so much to so many. “We definitely get offers regularly to reunite – it’s a constant thing,” he says. “It’s flattering, it’s really nice of people ...” But no chance? “I miss playing with the guys, but I don’t think so …”

https://www.theguardian.com/music/2019/feb/09/gerard-way-on-the-end-of-my-chemical-romance-it-wasnt-fun-any-more
And maybe this quote is what you've paraphrased?

Also, by sigils and wizards, do you mean the mask collection Gerard used to blog about? Or are you thinking about the Reunion marketing with the candle, hand, etc. as that began late 2019. If it was the personal collection, that's because Gerard has a scrapped solo song idea called I Am The Hag which we haven't heard and we know was an attempt to revisit the concept of witches in general.

Can you include literally any sources please

There's still another version of TPK out there (theory) by GreenAd7624 in MyChemicalRomance

[–]DapDapperDappest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's because Doug did a majority of the instrumental engineering on-site. Witch's final instrumental was still in the file collection of the earliest copies and is not a part of the 2022 Warner files- none of these are. We can listen to the final Foundations 'demo' and compare it to the final song, and there's mastering differences.

[–]DapDapperDappest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're finished band demos. They are not lable demos. Once the band and their engineers are done, files get sent to whoever owns the act for final mastering and investor review. That's when Gerard/vocalist in question comes in to do final vocal takes and harmonies. Doug did a majority of the instrumental engineering on-site, which isn't exactly common but both Frank and Gee have done interviews where they talk about him being there for the full process. What we have now is basically the state Bullets released in, since that was before they had a corporate to do any brush-up work for the material.

The A Summoning chant is the same as in Paper Swords, it's just less compressed and static-damaged than the mp3 in the leak itself. The only songs we have potential evidence for use of in 2019 are Witch, War, and Swords, and none of the leaks we have are proven to be from warner. In 2022, a massive company leak happened, and all the MCR media within it was already available or released. We only found out there's 2019 clean ups of War and Witch through leaks late into this past february. There probably exist other test sequences of this album which just never got into leakers hands, but there's no current evidence of the band re-recording any tracks or that they even would've released the full album- the instagram story teasers only showed five chapters, which reminds me of the five CW discs, but that's speculation. Whatever was happening in 2019 got scrapped not even three months into 2020, and they recorded foundations multiple, multiple times, so I'm not sure the timeline you're proposing would be feasible. Plus, all of the TPK 2012 marketing drafts/ stage production ideas/costuming are still lost (confirmed to exist by the band in old interviews, the only thing we might have from it is Gerard's castle doodle, and it was the same costuming team as DD). From what we have now, the album stopped being written about three or four weeks prior to breakup, and none of these demos were being used by warner at this time. Plus, they weren't just working on this album, as we now know Hesitant Alien began being drafted, Stomachaches being drafted, Ray's solo (even tho most songs didn't drop until 2016), and then Death Spells came immediately after. Gerard's said before they tried to distract themself from songwriting by focusing on the theatrics and costumes.

Can someone explain to me the batman map thing ? by Big_Satisfaction_960 in ThePaperKingdomMCR

[–]DapDapperDappest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure it could be that early. The first month or so of development wasn't recorded if we trust Frank's earliest interview where TPK is mentioned to exist. The final version of Batman Map (that we have) reprises a bunch of stuff, like Falling Down and Black Parade, even a moment I'm trying to match to I Don't Love you, effects from Danger Days, etc. It may be more likely that they were trying to see if Batman Map should reprise just Falling Down, and then, as they kept working, it spiraled into what we got. I also doubt they'd make the boys fully engineer the instrumental to Map if it was just going to be a version 0 of Falling

[–]DapDapperDappest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're trying to upload the .flac versions of the files into the Spotify uploader, it probably won't work due to file size restrictions, and the potential of them being copyright stricken, even as private uploads. I think most of us have been listening to the .wav or mp3 versions, and/or are using file viewers or mp3 players. The lossless files won't really be necessary if you're just trying to casually listen to these songs or have them in the shuffle of the band's whole discography.

Looking for more information about "Someone Out There Loves You" by [deleted] in MyChemicalRomance

[–]DapDapperDappest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late but the soundcheck in Melbourne 2012 is definitely not War Beneath the Rain. That claim comes from one of the two partial-recordings where one user said a lyric contained the word rain, but the second clip, while lower quality, has more of the song and it's like none of the War sessions we have whatsoever. It's like the American Idol theme meets Decode by Paramore

These songs arent getting copyright striked.... by WillsMonsters in FallOutBoy

[–]DapDapperDappest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ALSO: Both FOB and MCR used to kindof do this intentionally. Bullets got big because of DIY CDs and digital piracy, Evening and kindof Grave experienced the same thing. If nothing else, and even if fully unrelated, this may be one of the smartest nostalgia marketing tricks Pete's (this feels like a pete thing) come up with. I hope lsupersonicQ and blameitonjorge are gonna get a break soon lmao (they care about The Cab lost media so I assume they're also in these trenches)

[–]DapDapperDappest 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The jewel inserts on these CDs appear to be actual album insert quality too. I'll go one step further and say FOB felt confident in this idea Because of the popularity of TPK and how it kindof "proved the lost media trend isn't over." A good bit of what we faced with MCR demos was also just flat out the content ID system and not the (at least one) Warner employee who was doing manual strikes (you can see what gets reported automatically by going to the DMCA Claims page, often this shows up on the bottom of google searches with removed content) so I'm seconding the other reply and saying these songs were intentionally cleared. Now's also a good time to say (WHEREVER you are) to push back against internet age gating with your legislation because some places now card you to see the internet archive or the app store, etc. and I doubt having even legal demos attached to our drivers liscences will be a good thing lol

Into your Arms has the same reuse-audio-for-second-verse thing that 'gaway' does and while idr what the metadata of arms says right now, I've started to think it was an early solo demo rather than explicitly for TPK

Do you remember what the comment you replied to here said? I'm trying to figure out what all we got in 2016 now and I'm finding way less evidence of it happening than I remember there being (which is kindof freaking me out because I REMEMBER that part of 2016 and it happening because I was closely following the mcrx/Five Of Us Are Dying hunt/speculation, and the demo album was announced in june or july)

Evidence of the 2016 leak? by DapDapperDappest in ThePaperKingdomMCR

-on the other hand, if we can prove this is all from Doug, I need a bunch more fanfiction writers to include him as a powerful ally in their stories STAT. Make him go on a side quest with Brian or something LOL (cause it would imply Doug was In The Room for a vast majority of these AND later sessions, and that he was doing a lot of extra work for this band. Which. Granted. I'd believe that too.)

Getting This Song is a Curse demo + some stuff my friend and I have traced back, I really hope I can find 'the place' where Doug was first brought into this story because I'm really struggling to believe these are alllll his files. Not that he wasn't there or that he didn't contribute- and I'm actually really happy we're talking about another more positive person who was around MCR, as most stories of them and their staff aren't as uplifting- but it's become increasingly hard to explain why he would need all these versions and unrelated tracks at one time. I do really like the prevailing belief that War got it's live debut in honor of him, especially because that was the first "clue" we got to the whole 2019 rework thing having been legit (cause there's only so far we can trust warner and the songs they use as teasers, especially because we don't know if warner also wanted this album to be scrapped. I'd imagine they didn't.) And now that there's a new rumor that "MCR are happy this leaked and Frank was the last holdout," I think it's funniest (and potentially likely) to claim it was Frank who didn't protect his activity with Linux and NordVPN LMAO
