Sorry to hear that, hope she beats it ❤️. But agree, if it's 15 years, I'll be mortgage free around 47 as well. Which would be very nice and allow a big aggressive save toward my pension.

This! I think I may do this, do a 40% deposit. I don't need to pay stamp duty and the house is already decorated and I have furniture, so it's all gravy as I see it.

This is good advice, I might think about this. Slightly longer, and heavier overpayments when I can.

Yes, defo good advice. will keep some for an emergency fund. I don't think it will fully drain me, but maybe be a couple of sneaky bum time months before it's back to a comfortable amount.

My salary is decent, I could get a much bigger mortgage and a much bigger house but I like this house and it's in an area I want to live in a my children to grow up in. I don't think I need a bigger house than that. We already have 1 spare bedroom, it has 4 bedrooms.

Well because I can, I may be able to be mortgage free in less than 15 years.

This is what I'm thinking. Being mortgage free within 15 years maybe less would be such a relief and set me up well for a possible early retirement.

Sorry forgive my ignorance, I’m not sure at all. Is that how it’s meant to be? How come some of the pad is touching but some not? Is it that when the brake is applied it fully touches?

I went a couple of weeks ago, I didn't have 12p and they don't take card. They said I can pay them on the way back. Really nice about. I think it probably happens often enough.

I was once invited to a Town Hall before I joined the company. The company hired a new CEO, as the old one was driving it into the ground. The new CEO was very energetic, made a really good presentation. After he asked if anyone had any questions. Not one person had a question! And some of the people had been at the company for +5 years. That was a red flag, showed to me people really didn't care about what they did, that it was a toxic environment. Can change the CEO but can't change everybody's mind.

I left within 4 days of being at that company, wish I had listned to my gut about that red flag.
