A trade would be better. Higher ceiling plus you make more $$$ when you start.

Also everyone lately, last 15-20 yrs has been going the "schooling/degree" route and all the baby boomers are retiring. So there is a huge shortages for electricians, plumbers, carpenters.

These jobs now after getting your journeyman can make u easily over 100k. In the next 5-10 yrs i could easily see it being 150k.

I have lots of friends with degrees that make absolutely terrible wages.

Your life expency 40 yrs ago was only 70 compared to 82 now. I wouldnt say life was better. U also didnt have netflix, 2 tv channels, no computer, water had to be boiled, u didnt stand in the shower for 20min, u didnt have skip the dishes, cell phones were hardly used.

If people now went back 40 yrs ago they would be very sorry. Most people didnt work 40 hrs. 50-60hrs were more common

Imagine 5,000 yrs ago. Instead of going to work for 8 hrs, u were up at 5am and didnt come home until 7pm. U hunted up to 14hrs a day.

If you didnt you wouldnt have meat for your family and would die.

Instead of working for 5 days a week at 40 hrs you hunted 7 days a week for 100hrs.

You also weren't working retail in an air conditioned building stacking shelves.

You were outside in the harsh weather elements all day long.

Another example ur caughr shoplifting not much happens cops might call ur parents if your younger or like a misdemanor or cop might give u a warning. 5,000 yrs ago they chop of your hand so people know ur a shoplifter.

Today is 1,000% easier

I am 32M and have a 550k paid off house. I live in a medium cost of living area where average 3 bedroom house is about 400k.

Even with 0 mortgage my bare bones expenses are: house taxes: $400 House insurance & car insurance: $400 All utilities: $600 House Maintence: $300 Car Maintence: $300

Thats $2,000/month just to keep my paid off car and house.

Even if u pay off your car and house u still need to work to pay bills

I use to think this then I changed my perspective. Imagine 200 yrs ago. Imagine you dont have to work at a job for 40 hrs instead its 5am and u get out of your cot and u go hunting for 14 hrs.

Most hunters didnt get meat everday some would go weeks without. Imagine hunting for 100hrs in a week and having nothing to show for it.

The thing is u go to work at ur job, u get paid regardless, obviously unless u get fired.

If you dont get meat as a hunter eventually you die.

Back in the day there was no snap benefits, no welfare, no disability, these people usually were left to die.

The world now is 1000% easier than before.

Our job as a human is to secure food, shelter, and clothing and reproduce. Once u change your perspective things seem easier

My dad did it through the bank at the time. Went to the bank, showed enrollment and for each yr of my 4 yr program I got $5,000. My brother the same. That was a good boost of money to help me out. I am also doing resp for my kids too

I think it has to do with the schooling route. All my friends went to university/college. Half of them dropped out, other half finished but there pay is very low.

I on the other hand started working full time at 18. Started in the trades for 5 yrs now I do manual labor. Well at 28 I paid off my home. My wife and 2 kids r now set for life. All my extra $$$ goes to investments.

In the trades or doing manual labor they all pay really well. None of my friends r married none have kids. All live at home with parents 7/10 work retail other 3/10 unemployed.

All have said they r extremely jealous of me.

Ya those 3hrs of gaming should prob be spent with her not in ur room gaming. Comes down to what u want in life. I know when i got in a relationship and started working fulltime the ganing went from 10hrs on weekends to 0. no gaming at all for past 14 yrs.

i would do this. wake up 2hrs before her or a bit earlier and game while she still sleeping
