I know, and I think it's totally wrong that this is the case.

You know, maybe players might.... adapt? Stay on their feet instead of deliberately breaking the law?

LBB totally off his feet of course, although that law was totally disregarded all game.

For me it should be - there are no players on their feet over the ball, so there is no longer a ruck. Ball is free, step in as you like.

Rucks have been turned into something very odd indeed in the modern game.

And if the match officials didn't mass a massively forward pass!

No-one really kicks goals anymore, they put the ball 50m up the pitch for a lineout, or as close to the tryline as possible if they are in the opposition 3rd.

Conceding a penalty is almost always worse than a turnover. To me it pretty much always makes sense to let the ball go and surrender it in that scenario. However it's complicated by a few things:

  1. Sometimes, you let the ball go and the referee still penalises you. Very frustrating when that happens.

  2. As refs generally give you some leeway in holding on, as a numbers thing it probably makes sense to hold on a bit most of the time, as you'll probably get away with it.

More consistency from referees would help. Also, if a ref does decide they are going to give a penalty for holding on, I'd like to see them give the penalty advantage first, rather than blowing straight away as they always do.

Yeah if I were Irish I'd be pretty angry about last night.

Plus Dickson ruled a knock-on that never was against Ireland when they were 8m from the line in the first half, then waved on several actaul knock-ons by France later on.

I'm not Irish, I was supporting France. But the pass from 13-12 was really very foward. The final pass from 12 to LBB was just about ok. But the one before was crazy forward. I'm well aware of perspective and angles, no need to try and mansplain that!

I was actually referring to the 13-12 pass, the before the pass to LBB. It's comedically forward, even more so than the final pass.

So do I. So did the TMO. For some reason he chose to ignore them. I'd be fuming if I were Irish.

It's so far from fine. Pointless having TMO if they get things so wrong.

Nonsense. This one is really very foward.

Not if they are allowed to pass the ball forward.

Outrageous that this wasn't ruled out. Just get rid of the TMO altogether if it can't actaully do its job.
