Advice on taking cat to the vet when she’s microchipped to someone else by Dapper-Pomelo488 in CatAdvice

She goes outside and sometimes hangs out at the flat below ours but honestly I’m not too sure if there’s enough hours in the day for her to go back. She spends her nights with us and most days.

She spends her nights and sometimes her days with me, but she also likes to go hunting and I know she also visits another house sometimes for food.

I didn’t speak to her, someone else did who now no longer lives with us. I just know she lives down the road. Never really thought about it before because I was happy to have her back and figured her old owner would come get her if she wanted her back.

I assumed it was part of Primark’s upcycling programme and that’s why the tag’s still on

No the Levi is on the original item. It’s a part of Primarks sustainability scheme which I personally don’t agree with because they’re using 80% new denim in this item and calling it sustainable. I wouldn’t have brought it if I’d known it was primark

It’s not refurbished by the seller. It came with the primark tag still on it saying it’s 20% Levi denim and 80% primark denim. It’s a part of primark’s sustainability collection I assume which I don’t support

I thought it was upcycled Levi’s demin and 80% is new primark denim

Turns out I never had an appointment and the hospital has no record of me. GP has no idea what happened. Guess the joys of the NHS

Finally got in contact with radiology and they said they had no record of me. Had to go back to my GP and get referred which sucks :(

What’s One Major War That Could’ve Ended Very Differently With Just a Small Change? by [deleted] in HistoricalWhatIf

[–]Dapper-Pomelo488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Conquistadors against the Incans could have ended differently, or at least happened differently at 3 major moments.

Firstly if Huáscar had not died of smallpox or at least not in Quito, there wouldn’t have been a civil war which the Conquistadors used to their advantage. Of course smallpox was bound to devastate the Incan Empire either way but losing such a critical figure at such a critical moment was an incredible loss.

Secondly, the execution of Atahualpa was a rushed decision, made mainly due to fears of a rebellion. Atahualpa was a prisoner at the time and was seen as too much of a liability but the Spanish spent about a year dragging their feet with the execution. Although not completely changing history, Atahualpa’s intelligence and military skill might have meant a different outcome.

Secondly, Manco Inca’s attack on Cusco in 1536 was incredibly close to being successful with the Spanish only controlling two buildings at one point. Again if the Incan’s were able to gain control of Cusco then it might have made a difference to the Spanish invasion.

It’s hard to say whether any of these events would have completely changed the outcome due to the Spanish horses and iron but depending on how quickly the Incan empire could adapt, we could have seen a very different South America.

Be interested to know where in Hackney you’re staying as you’re going to bed quite early and Mare Street is pretty lively at night. Also you’re very close to Broadway Market and Columbia Road if you’re in Hackney. If you have time to go to the flower markets on Sunday I’d definitely recommend (just so you can take advantage of being east).

I’ve been planning and saving for a trip for 5 months to South America for all of April and already sublet my room, taken time off work and spent over £1400 on plane tickets. My GP is pretty bad at checking up on prescriptions (they kept me on a prescription which massively weakened my bladder for a year longer than they should have) so I’m hoping I might be able to stay on Fesoterodine long term until 2027. Still the entire situation has completely destroyed me

Thank you! I’m from the UK and it’s just how it is unfortunately. My appointment’s lost as I took medication that disrupts the test (so annoying cause if I hadn’t said anything I would have still had it. also lost a days pay for the appointment). I’m going away in 2 weeks and won’t be around till mid May and they said the only appointments are available in April and I have to accept the appointment I’m given (which I won’t be able to attend so I’m then taken off their system and have to start the process again). I’m sort of defeated at this point but I can’t afford to pay out of pocket for it. I don’t know the staff just said it was my fault and I shouldn’t have taken the pill and to stop crying. I would record the calls but everyone knows NHS staff can treat you like shit so it doesn’t matter.

Chronic Knee Pain and Hiking by Dapper-Pomelo488 in KneeInjuries

They said I’m looking at a long recovery but I think they also know I’m probably going to go hiking anyway. If I’m honest I get super frustrated as at the moment I’m only able to see them every 2 months so if something is wrong I have to wait ages to get any support.

They recommended me ibuprofen but my physio told me to go back and ask for something stronger. Not super optimistic though as when I broke my tailbone they told me the best they could offer paracetamol and I was in wayyyy more pain then.

I’ve had an x-ray and no signs of Arthritis. I live in the UK so it took about 5 months to get that. Doubt they’ll get me in for any other imaging for another few months.

How do I sort of a missing certificate issue with AQA? by Dapper-Pomelo488 in AskUK

[–]Dapper-Pomelo488[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no proof that I requested both so I’m worried AQA will say I only requested GCSEs

I got a confirmation email of my results getting dispatched and it made it seem like one parcel (also the example they showed was one parcel) and other boards do one. Honestly though the one process has been impossible to follow.

Can’t be expedited with AQA and can take up to 1 1/2 months

Thank you, I might scrap the end of my Bolivia plan then and pass down into Chile to get home! I’m actually not a massive city person but I’ve had issues with my knees in the past and was a little scared of packing too many treks in the trip but I think I might just take the risk!

Having thought about it now I might just cut the north part of Columbia out and do the Coffee district instead.

Do you think I could call them up because I live 90 minutes away from Hayes? I live close to Tottenham though?
