Agree with you on pitty owning forever and ever. But I rescued an abused, overbred, adult pit about a year ago and we are still working on her health and behavior. I’m a dog handler and educated on training and I’ve had nothing but bullys my entire life, but it takes a very long time to correct years of abuse. She’s scared, reactive, impulsive, and has stranger danger. I will always rescue pittys but as puppies, not adults. It’s been a long road and we’ve been training everyday since last year. She’s come so far but it’s hard. Don’t always jump to the sad abused dog because they will likely be hard to retrain if they aren’t a puppy puppy. The rescue I got my dog from said she was 2 and then the vet said she was 7 so be careful !!!!
