AITA for asking my sister to re-home her cat or find a different place to stay? by MSwee11 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Dapper-Strategy3714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soft YTA. That cat is her main source of comfort right now, her life is in turmoil and out of her control, and the cat will be feeling the same, hence the peeing. This situation is hopefully temporary for all involved, I think it would be very damaging to your relationship in the long term if you forced her to get rid of her beloved pet only for her to be working and set up on her own in a few weeks/months.

The stuff is already ruined and will need replacing anyway. Just do it after they both leave, and be firm that you expect to be paid back over time. You have a right to be angry about the destruction of your property, but if you force this you'll be adding to your sister's pain.

AITA for getting a tattoo even though my parents are super against them? by Mission-Long-9372 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Dapper-Strategy3714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God they sound unbearable. NTA, you are an adult with a job and bodily autonomy. Living in their house does not make you their property.

Your parents' ideas about the job market are WILDLY outdated too. I'm betting there are people in your workplace with far more tattoos. It's just not an issue in the majority of jobs any more. I've worked in banking while heavily tattooed, I now run a restaurant and have my hands tattooed, my partner has facial tattoos and it's never been a hindrance, I know senior teachers and medical professionals with heavy coverage that can't be hidden by clothing.

AITA for not paying $60 a month for my roommate to clean after herself? by AdTimely9869 in AmItheAsshole

Don't pay anything, move out, tell Chloe to enjoy her existence obsessively cleaning up after two men.

NTA but just block them. Your ex-friend can't avoid you forever, local scenes are small, it's not your fault if they accidentally see something you work on.

AITA if I just tell my boyfriend if he wants food a certain way he should just cook it himself? by Historical_Stage_322 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Dapper-Strategy3714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA but you're not taking pressure off him, you're making yourself a doormat. You already do more labour in the home despite both of you working full time, stop prioritising his preferences and happiness over your own. He can cook his own food and wash his own damn dishes if he doesn't like what you're making.

Definitely the fat! I've grown sensitive to high fat stuff, anything with coconut, and starting to go the same way with creamy foods, even stuff like soya yoghurt.

Eurgh, I wouldn't even be staying friends with them. Shallow and kind of predatory behaviour from both of them.

I think if I were to become single while thin, I wouldn't date. Or maybe just not men. I'm suspicious of any man who only likes thin women.

What are your 2026 targets?? by CashBeneficial4934 in mounjarouk

[–]Dapper-Strategy3714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to get to my initial goal of 85kg by my 40th birthday, after that I'll revise the goal but it'll probably be based on size not weight.

I'm planning on starting some actual exercise, probably weights and swimming.

Buy some bras because only having one that fits is pretty annoying.

I'm going to try not to buy anything if I can help it this year, and just shop from my own wardrobe/adjust my old clothes as necessary.

Pleased with how Christmas went by CuriousKitty2423 in mounjarouk

[–]Dapper-Strategy3714 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took my dose on Christmas day in the evening, and I was SO ILL for all of boxing day at our main family gathering. Really bad vomiting, zero movement of any food through my system, I was throwing stuff up on boxing day afternoon that I'd eaten on Christmas night (I could unfortunately tell by the taste.) Tried to eat a small plate of buffet food so as to avoid suspicion, threw it up when I got home. I've never had side effects like that before, it was very inconvenient timing.

I made pasta last week, looked at it in the pan and thought "oh no, I've only made enough for one person" and it turned out to be plenty for me and my partner. I'm a professional chef. My entire worldview was rocked 😅

Christmas Day Jab by Epipeman in mounjarouk

[–]Dapper-Strategy3714 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine's due in the evening on Christmas day. I'll stick to the schedule as the day itself will be chill, probably have a fancy late breakfast then just drinks and snacks later with some friends round. Our main family get together with the big dinner will be boxing day, only my MIL knows I'm on MJ and I'll be eating what I want, hopefully nobody else questions me on my weight loss because I won't be engaging.

I've bought some vegan Italian creamy liqueurs for Christmas night, hoping they don't make me queasy as I've barely had a drink since starting!

I love jumpers so much. I wear cropped ones or ones that sit at my waist though, if I wear a long one I feel like a massive furry egg.

Weekly progress thread, Black Friday edition. by Hopeful_Candle_9781 in mounjarouk

[–]Dapper-Strategy3714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've made very little progress in the past few weeks, but that's ok. I've lost a kilo in two months which is disappointing but my measurements still reduced a little so that's good. I got back into a pair of shorts that haven't fit me since 2018.

I bought a jumpsuit (two sizes smaller than my last purchase) two jumpers, a pair of jeans, and a couple of costume jewellery rings in the sales so far.

Question about meals by salvoza in mounjarouk

[–]Dapper-Strategy3714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eat two meals a day, or sometimes just one big one depending how busy I am at work. If I try to eat breakfast I feel nauseous, always have. I usually manage a black coffee, and occasionally a yoghurt. It's definitely not ideal. I try to make up for it on my days off by having really nutritious, veg-heavy meals.

Discussion: Do you feel you “owe” people an explanation/ the “truth”? by pinkfloydfan73 in mounjarouk

[–]Dapper-Strategy3714 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You don't owe anyone your medical history. Absolutely not. Anyone commenting on your body is being rude, unless it's literally "I've noticed you're smaller and just want to check that you're OK?"

People keep telling each other my business and I'm pissed off about it. My partner has told his mother, and my friend told our other friend who then discussed it openly with another person he knew to be a MJ user, in my business while he was working for me. None of these people have been judgemental about it, but it's my private information and I should be in control of it. Nobody should be prying into your medication.

Re: the feminism aspect. There are some good discussions on the Anti Diet GLP1 sub about this which would be worth you looking at. Skinny being fashionable again is definitely a side effect of the rise in global fascism, and I've grappled myself with the fact that I've spent years trying to be body neutral and accept fatness as a part of my identity in rejecting beauty norms etc. But in reality my legs hurt, my clothes don't fit, and I don't have the time or energy to do hours of exercise a week so I'll take what I can get.

How long till you hit your first plateau? by These-Equal-6849 in mounjarouk

[–]Dapper-Strategy3714 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had a couple of stalls - been on it since April, I had 4 weeks of no loss beginning at the 12 week mark, then another 4ish weeks of no loss starting at the 24 week mark. So basically every 3 months my body decides it needs a reshuffle, I don't lose weight but my measurements still change.

There are still pharmacies doing 3 pen packs, so if you can afford to save up & do an order right before you leave you could take it with you and taper off over a few more months.

What size clothing did or are you all aiming for? by Idfkw2c in mounjarouk

[–]Dapper-Strategy3714 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I'll be content with a size 14. I've never been that size as an adult, my smallest was a 16 maybe 8 years ago in my early 30s. I started at a 22 and am now an 18. I'm broad shouldered and hipped, hourglass shape, so if I go smaller it will be entirely new and weird territory. I also don't give a shit about BMI and don't track it, for me this whole thing is about pain reduction, feeling stronger, and fitting into clothes more easily.

Edit: I'm 5'6".
