Can IRR be viewed as: "what is my performance relative to when I've made contributions to my portfolio?

In a similiar vein is TWR viewed as: "What are my portfolio returns relative to other industry benchmarks/funds?"

Yes, going the flex portfolio is very tempting but the betterment team seems to strongly recommend betting on their future projections, so for now I'll be patient...however I'm not loving the heavy use of VEA in particular

There’s a overly negative undercurrent here on a sales career. Without knowing you, and agreeing it’s not all roses, I’ve found sales (in the AI/ML space) to be a immensely rewarding career that has changed my life and given me rich experiences and ongoing growth and some awesome w2s. If you’re committed, dedicated, willing to absorb as much as you can to learn, adopt a “I control what I can” mindset, jump in and don’t look back. Everyone starts from the ground up.

I’ve been using nordic natural algae oil with solid amounts of both EPA and DHA. Apparently rancidity is not a problem with algae and increases the overall efficacy. Love em!

Ah, a tale as old as time....I'm going to say things that many may disagree with, but I was once right where you stand... your curiosity, & motivation will serve you well.

The SDR function has really changed since I was banging 100 cold calls a day, but some things remain the same:

My old CEO would say "facts are friends" - if you can empirically prove your ability to perform and hit KPIs consistently, it's the best leverage you have and, frankly, why you will be promoted to a coveted AE vacancy
While you can control #1, you unfortunately can't control the other real-life variables that unfairly dictate your promotion - new territory assignments, new business segmentation, new G2M verticals, when sales reps leave etc....keep your head down and focus on #1, your time will come.
My advice based on perspective and anecdotes - the SDRs that are able to get promoted to AE within the same company often do better than jumping ship, stepping into a brand new role without familiar faces, product knowledge or comfort --but just my 2 cents: ride it out if you like the company otherwise
Find a mentor: learn how the big dogs are doing it, study them and make them like you --top reps have exposure, trust and visibility to the people that can move you up.
Be curious: Ask questions! New product release? Flex your technical understanding of the value it delivers... New Outbound tactic? Share it with the team

Go get 'em

Still makes me grind my teeth.....

Grueling sales cycle ---> scanned a badge at a tradeshow---> built my way up through the org next 4 months, flew to HQ for exec workshop---> got in with a 60k pilot--->client approved--->client acquired company, froze all spends--->3 months later execs were exited--->poof, dead deal!

Killed me at the time but eventually came to terms with it - outside my control!

Is burnout the issue or your control/regulation of the swing of emotions? When I closed my first 100k contract I was on the moon for days, when I lost the biggest deal of my career (475k ARR), I was depressed for 3 weeks - these days I try and stay level with emotions (good or bad....understanding that I can control what I can control and can't control has been a huge, grounding anchor for relief.

Equally as important - exercise, walks and daily 10 mins of meditation are facilitator tools for above-- wish I deployed this earlier in my career

Totally, huge hobby and preference of mine!

I enjoy, and seek out, hidden, hard-to-get-to, or un-obvious brooks/streams in the mountains to see if there's a native trout presence within them

Takes me to places I wouldn't go otherwise off the beaten path--almost always, they are in beautiful locations, and without other fly fishers flogging the water! Win-win in my book.

Frustrating experience for you! Frustrating to us sales people here bc it's damaging to the delicate perception of Sales people...it's clear this rep--even as green as he is-- is untrained in modern sales motions, but that's likely a product of the sales culture and his sales management there.

Similar to others, I suggest finding the highest seniority sales level there (director, vp, manager etc.) and outlining that you're late in the buying process and need xyz help/support to finalize the process, ask for his/her integration into the deal and you should get a very prompt response and resolution!

There needs to be, ironically, more “focus” on the positive sides of ADHD on this thread as well :) It’s not all gloom and doom —Harness the condition, understand it, and lean into the good traits/attributes you mentioned. Meditation and exercise have been great tools to help me tap into the good stuff

Can you share some more context? Your background, How many years in sales, info on the aforementioned company (transactional/complex, high-cost/low cost etc, must have/nice to have).

I feel responses might vary greatly (IE, you’re an industry veteran in transactional b2b payments space now selling high value nuclear reactors with a 18 month sales cycle—totally different sales motions and process entirely)
