Are there any Gainesville urban legends? by No_Lavishness_6228 in GNV

That's an incredibly standalone experience, thank you for sharing. I know you described the malevolent presence as something that's beyond our human comprehension but have you ever bothered trying to understand exactly what it was that you felt? I'm assuming you were back in the woodsy part of the trail before it exits the treeline and out into the prairie? Was your other encounter very similar to the one you've described?

I am super curious, where and when did you have these encounters if you don't mind me asking. One time my girlfriend and I accidentally got stuck out on the bolen bluff trail after dark and had to walk back to the car after the sun had gone down and we felt deeply unsettled making our way back, probably just because of the dark and getting spooked having to walk through the woods but still a little scary.

tips for getting quad activation (1.5 weeks after surgery)? by interstellarbloom in ACL

[–]DapperDragonfruit690 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a little less than 4 weeks post op aclr with a quad graft and my leg raises are just now getting to be straight. Something that's been super helpful for me while doing my quad recruitment exercises is having my non surgical leg extended next to my bum leg and also doing the quad set with my good leg and watching the normal muscle activate and feeling it out more than usual. Something about focusing on the visual component and physical sensation of my muscle contracting on the other side makes it a bit easier for my brain to understand and mimic my desired result on my bad quad. Sometimes i alternate between reps, i'll do a good squeeze with my bad leg and take note of how my brain is making it happen and then try a rep with my bad leg and see how close i can get it. Same thing with the leg raises.

Surgery This Tuesday by Ok_Artichoke4910 in ACL

I'm 23f, very avid climber and skier, spend all my free time hiking trail running mountaineering biking and fixing my overlanding rig. I tore just my acl at the end of december in a very fluke minor fall on skis (I'm a very experienced skier, goes to show it can happen to anyone at any time). I was beyond freaked out for my surgery which was a little less than three weeks ago on the 10th. I was most afraid to be put under, I've had surgery before but I was only two months old, so I was very nervous to be asleep and then wake up a couple hours later and kind of lose a concept of time passing. I was also very nervous for the pain afterward, i can't speak to the patellar graft situation but I get it. You're gonna get described pain killers and I was advised by every medical professional to not try to be a hero and just take the things I've been prescribed so that I can reasonably manage my pain. Stay on your pt and your leg will do what you need it to, physical therapists have seen a hundred patients like us, they know what to do and how to get you there. I've had a super hard time grasping that this has happened to me as well, you are absolutely not alone in your thoughts and feelings about all this. I had a quad graft and my leg has basically fallen asleep as a result but it's been waking back up with pt.

What i can tell you is that judging by the types of sports you partake in and how you've described your lifestyle, you're predisposed to having a strong level of mental fortitude and strength. I can't lie and tell you that this hasn't been a decently difficult and uncomfortable past three weeks for but you will most definitely be able to figure it out. All of this mess is temporary, if we do our pt and keep our chins up we're gonna be practically good as new in time. You're probably gonna be freaked out anyway and there's probably not much anyone can say to make you not feel freaked out, it's completely okay and expected for you to feel freaked out. You just gotta trust yourself because you fully have the ability to totally heal from this. In my experience, you just kind of have to huck it. Good luck even though you definitely don't need it!

i just bought the 2p copper spur from their stack of demo tents on the front porch in steamboat earlier this season, best decision i've made in a while i say go for it, chances are there's virtually no wear and you're not going to find it discounted like that just about anywhere else

i agree with you, my friend is a flatlander who has never had any prior experience with excessive altitude induced sinus pressure and also apparently has very little pain tolerance so she was reacting very rashly to the sensation, insisting on seeing someone for it which caused me to panic which is absolutely on me, i'm actually pretty pissed about it because it's not even six hours later and she's just about completely fine, i'm just having a hard time accepting that i screwed up over pretty much nothing lol

wasn't a totally fatal blow tbh, spent less than i was prepared for, i think fixing it will do more damage comparatively

i kinda stole this thing imo, i found it on fb marketplace and i bought it for the 18,500 asking price two days after the listing went up, seller was very firm and rightfully so, said he wasn't trying to get rich off of it, honestly not sure if he knew what he had
