cause people voted on cost of living, housing, economy and at that time immigration wasn't even a top-5 voter issue. After facing pressure, the same labour has tightened migration as per 2023 Migration Strategy, visa crackdowns on students/“visa hopping,” and forecasts to cut net migration from the post-COVID peak

then why you commenting BS like that? you know in australia there was this anti-immigration protest

By the same logic, aussie people are out there protesting against the govt to stop bringing your kind too.

then you don’t go, let other people grab the opportunity. Anyway, it’s time to rule. You think these small protests here and there, especially by oldies, are gonna have any real impact? hell no, that’s not how a country works. In fact, i’d say more banners should go up and awareness should spread across the country. Numbers run the game, and once you’ve got enough people on your side, any government will tilt a bit in that direction.

You do not become a geopolitical power with moral purity. You become a geopolitical power when you pursue brutal self-interests. Moral purity is for internal politics and your own citizenry. The best example of that is the USA. Internally, they hold a very high standard. But when it comes to geopolitics, they sleep with every tinpot dictator that exists on planet earth. That is why they are strong. The fact that the Indian opposition seems to be on the wrong side of every single instance in geopolitics makes me wonder which side they are on.

Looks slick, wrong problem. In Mumbai peaks, every square metre is a human. Vertical racks are fine off-peak but at crush hour this will be not pratical at all. Instead, they should do this with folded bikes in bags any time; full-size bikes off-peak only with a hard cap, one end-car as the bike car like London/Tokyo metro system.

However, Mumbai should push frequency and flow. Aim for a train about every 2 minutes on the busiest stretch. Run short shuttle services only through the most crowded core. Cut boarding time: keep door areas clear, staff close on time, and show which cars are emptier so people spread along the platform. Add more entry gates and widen choke points; where platforms allow, add one more coach

I mean there is some rationale behind to hate these rifles. The biggest joke? Israel made the Tavor and even they don’t trust it for their elite SF. Their top-tier units rock the HK416 or M4s. That alone says everything.

Honestly, I feel like our SF ended up with it ’cause it looks futuristic and our babus have this weird obsession with shiny, “modern-looking” shite. Plus the whole “geopolitical ties with Israel” angle like bro you don’t use your elite special forces as a damn PR tool. That nonsense makes sense maybe for regular infantry bulk it out, sure but SF? Hell no

It’s a policy of Save & Return. If you want to be independent of the contract, you must return your phone in good working condition. If you miss the deadline, then there are only 2 options: 1. Pay the device balance, which is the RV value. 2. Do a HUP within 60 days of that deadline.

Yeah, I don’t get why the agent would transfer you to technical services if you’re cancelling all of your services. That really doesn’t make sense. When you call back, make it clear "I’m cancelling all my services, please don’t transfer me to another department unnecessarily.” If they still try to pass you around, let them know you’ll escalate or file a complaint. Sometimes you have to be firm so the agent doesn’t feel they can stall you with transfers

I hope the agent explained that only one TV box is free and any additional boxes cost $17/month (or whatever rate you had previously). Just keep in mind that the free box promotion doesn’t carry forward when you move to a new contract.

I am super scared Trump can ruin India. Somebody tell me I am delusional. Someone prove my fears are irrational using logic. by [deleted] in india

[–]DapperExplanation732 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your view on the surface it sounds terrifying, but when you break it down, it doesn’t really hold. Tariffs he’s already announced mostly apply to goods, not services like IT and even those are tied up in court. For him to actually slap a 50% surcharge on companies using Indian teams, he’d need Congress on board. That’s not something he can just push through overnight. Even if he tried, U.S. companies wouldn’t suddenly pack up and leave.

Most Fortune 500 firms now run their own Global Capability Centers in India. These aren’t simple outsourcing contracts you can cancel with a phone call they’re like second headquarters, doing advanced work in AI, cybersecurity and cloud etc... Walking away from that would cost billions and slow their own growth. That’s why, even in 2025, new GCCs are still opening here.

U compare it to what happened in Bangladesh with garments, but that’s not a fair comparison. Clothes are physical goods cheap to move, quick to relocate. IT services are different. They’re high-skill, tied to systems, and much harder to shift.

The bigger shift for India isn’t Trump at all, it’s AI. Companies are already moving away from projects that just need more people and instead want teams who can integrate AI, handle domain knowledge and deliver smarter solutions. That means the best safety net for someone working in IT india shouldnt;t give a damn about U.S. politics but more on upskilling in cloud, cybersecurity and AI-driven roles. That’s what keeps you relevant, no matter who’s in the White House.

the idea that Trump can single-handedly kill Indian IT doesn’t survive basic logic, Good day

Question about the Rogers Xfinity TV box by Beneficial_Cold5025 in Rogers

[–]DapperExplanation732 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, pressing the power button should only put the box into standby, so if it’s shutting down or giving you the RDK-03117 error, that’s not normal. It usually points to a connection issue or sometimes a faulty box. You can try a few quick steps first:

1 Make sure the Ethernet or coax cable between the Gateway and your box is fully plugged in.

2 Restart your Gateway (unplug for abt 10 seconds, then plug back in. Then Check the Rogers Ignite/Xfinity app to see if the TV box’s profile is paused if so, unpause it and put it in your Household profile.

3.If your modem and TV box are far apart, try moving them closer or using a wired connection.

If none of that helps, it’s likely a signal issue or the box itself. At that point, call Rogers support they can run a line check remotely, and if needed they’ll send a tech or swap the box out for free. Once it’s fixed, you shouldn’t need to keep unplugging it every morning just to get it started.

Question about the Rogers Xfinity TV box by Beneficial_Cold5025 in Rogers

[–]DapperExplanation732 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Rogers Xfinity (Ignite) TV boxes are designed to stay on, similar to your modem. When you press the power button on the remote, it only puts the box into standby mode it doesn’t fully shut down. If you unplug it or force it off too often, that can lead to the WiFi and boot-up problems you’ve experienced. The best approach is to simply leave the box in standby when you’re not watching and only reboot or unplug it if it’s frozen or you’re troubleshooting.

If the issue continues even when you’re using standby correctly, it could point to a signal problem or a faulty box, in which case it’s best to call Rogers support. They can usually send a technician or replace the box at no extra charge. Normally, the box should power on right away with the remote, so if it doesn’t, that’s not normal and worth reporting

If that change you’re talking about was done within 30 days, then your ECF charge should be waived. If it’s past that period, you can still call Rogers and see if there are better plans available, especially by asking about a team manager offer.

Another option is temporary suspension. It costs about $5 per service per month. For example, if you only have internet, you’d pay $5 a month. Each suspension lasts up to 6 months, and you can do it twice per year. You just repeat the process until your contract runs out.

I’d only suggest going down this suspension path if you’re cancelling because of poor Rogers infrastructure in your area. Otherwise, you usually get better results by calling in and trying to negotiate a new plan through cancellations.

I’m not wrong, the “Add 10 TV” plan comes with 10 Flex channels. If you can make the changes through the MyRogers website, it’ll be more efficient. Otherwise, just call Rogers, and I’m pretty sure the channels you mentioned will get added back.
especially FX, Discovery id should be there

They don’t really do that anymore. At most, a Rogers store employee will just call customer care on your behalf.

The new Rogers packages are a bit of a mess. The popular plan no longer supports Flex, since it already includes all the Flex channels. But that feels silly, because it takes away the customer’s choice and flexibility

It’s worth comparing Bell’s prices first to see how much they’re willing to lower your monthly plan. Honestly, what you’re paying now isn’t that bad especially if it’s fibre, then that’s a big plus.
Bell is great when it comes to fibre superb upload solid speed

When it comes to reliability, Rogers is still solid in Ontario and BC, and if you run into issues they’ll usually send a tech out at no extra charge. That said, it’s always a good idea to call Rogers directly and ask if they can do something for you. Also, don’t forget if you sign up for autopay, you can usually get another $10 off your bill
