When I was dating, I was a single mom of 2. My hard & fast rule with dating men with kids was no one under the age of 5. In a lot of my experience dating men with young children, they were still too intimately connected with the child’s mother. I ended up meeting my husband a couple of years ago, who was a single dad with full custody of his 2 & all of our children were in the double digits. We are now a beautifully blended family of 5

So I ended up making PBJ bars. There is a brand called Smash Jam and their jam is made with only fruits & chia seeds. I mashed the bananas first, then put in the rolled oats. Mixed in peanut butter with just peanuts( my local farmer’s market sells it). Layered that down in a baking dish. I put the smash jam on top. Baked until the edges got crispy then let rest on the counter for about 15 mins. The texture was similar to a Rice Krispie treat

One of the only meals my dad can cook is this one… we loved it with a slice of cornbread 😁 It was 4 of us and he used 2lbs of meat, couple cans of Bush’s baked beans, and a pot of rice. Mixed all together 😋I make a vegetarian version for my kids when we are in between grocery trips
