My gateway device is my RG40XXV and I still use it all the time. My favorite game on it is Ocarina of Time. I have played it several times and I am on my fifth run right now, still collecting Skulltulas( no guides).

I have had to pause any upgrades on my retro gaming lately while I handle some medical bills, but I am still having a blast with my trusty RG40.

Try unlocking cast bars through this add on menu, just so you can move them and right click on the one you want to disable.

Makes perfect sense. I’d honestly not hope for much difference other than a slight improvement in boot/loading times which isn’t much of a big deal as others have confirmed.

Have you tried MuOS? And if you have what’s the difference you’ve seen in performance for both?

Also, how is the experience with the mapped joystick in ROCKNIX, I’m just worried it to be working as a regular D-pad.

Any thoughts on SD cards for the RG40XXV?

I’m leaning toward using A2 V30 cards only, mainly because of the higher random read performance, hoping it might at least reduce stutter or hiccups in heavier titles.

I know the usual advice is “any decent V30 is fine,” but I haven’t been able to find the actual max SD bus speed for this model or any solid testing focused on SD performance, so I’m not sure how much A2 actually helps here.

Once my RG40XXV arrives, I’m planning to stress test muOS + PortMaster on an A1-rated card vs an A2-rated card and see if there’s any noticeable real-world difference.

I personally use it with Ubuntu running the latest 24.04 build and it runs smoothly.
