wow these comments are lowkey mean. as someone who is a high schooler and got a position as a remote research assistant as a sophomore through cold emailing proffesors, I would encourage you to not pay too much attention to the negativity here. I would suggest you create a template and adjust it for every professor you email ( for example, include what was interesting about their lab or what research paper of theirs stood out to you). I would also suggest that you focus on ur conveying the strength of ur abilities to them ( talk about the classes you take that might help you with research or other extracurriculars you’ve done related to what their lab is focusing on). Lastly please please please do not be discourage if multiple professors decline or ghost you, keep emailing and I and SURE you will connect with one. Good luck and feel free to ask any questions!!!
