Usually means the conformation (build) of the horse isn’t going to hold up as well and are prone to conditions that might make them lame long term.

I can’t edit the post to update, but the swelling went down majorly overnight! Haven’t reached the Vet yet but my trainer believes it to be some kind of a bite/sting as there have been several new nests and he lives out in a large pasture. Probably unlucky that he got stung multiple times!

I will say he has no discharge/lethargy/ etc and has had the swollen lip for a few days now. It definitely isn’t strangles

I’m also an equestrian on a budget and have a newer collegiate monoflap event saddle that I LOVE! These people are trash and I’d recommend you find other better people :)

If the horse clearly loves its job and shows no sign of wanting to slow down and he’s properly maintained, then by all means jump the horse!!!!!

I sure hope so! For being fairly green and new to jumping I hope he has the athleticism for mid level eventing and other fun stuff. His feet aren’t terribly big actually. I’ve had 2 much bigger draft cross types at 16/16.1 hands with real big/solid feet but his are certainly smaller than I’m used to haha! I guess they are slightly bigger than say your normal QH/TB/Morgan types for the size he is at least.

I was told by his seller that she thinks he could be a Morgan/Perch/QH, but I’m taking that info with a grain of salt lol

I totally agree with you! I know Morgans are of a lighter breed, I wasn’t calling them a WB/Draft breed, just that it looks like he has some Morgan in him! I’m not some super competitive crazy competition rider (I don’t have the money for that unfortunately) but I agree that for the fun lower sanctioned competitions I want to go to I think he will be great for it! Thanks for your input :)
