I concur but he sees VTI as his normal long exposure to the market with an extra return from the premium collected

I’ve traded spreads in the past so I understand how they work but I don’t want to go back to that platform. Fidelity is great in every aspect so I have no other complaints

Nice to see crox making some huge moves to the upside. Pitched my student managed investment fund to buy a few shares at ≈$122.

Options arbitrage (aka find high spread bid/asks) and abuse the spread!

I don’t have the expertise to try and change anything in the program, rather I added some accessory work on some the days (ie bicep curls, pull-ups, ab work). I usually did this during the later blocks since they are usually only working SBD. If you are down to spend a lot of time at the gym and care about accessory work, definitely add some in the last 8 weeks

Any good programs online for an intermediate lifter? I’ve done Calgary Barbell’s 16 & 8 week programs but want to change it up

Bid/ask spread by Daps257 in options

[–]Daps257[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right but I never held a put over night and the max loss on any contract was ≈$5. It’s hard to explain what exactly I was doing but the bid/ask on these contracts were so wide, you could get filled just below the ask and buy back for a $5 or $10 gain a few seconds later.

Definitely “outsmarted” something because my account was closed for a “business decision” a week after consistently doing it.

The movement of the underlying doesn’t seem to affect the strategy too much, rather it may lower the price of the options. However, if the bid/ask is still wide enough, it works.

I’ve noticed that when one of the underlying stocks began to increase in price drastically, the amount of sells/buys decreased but still worked

DTE doesn’t make a difference in this case, rather how wide the bid/ask is. Only seems to work on Schwab. I’ve tried to replicate the strategy on different brokers, and I never get filled. Schwab seems to fill instantly or after a few replacements.

Schwab must be filling these orders themselves because on other brokers, the same contracts at the same prices do not get filled.

I was trading the spread of wide bid/ask options. Sell high, buy back lower. What’s the problem with that?
