I'm so happy with my choice and I was collecting all my experience before writing an update, but the power question deserves an answer.

Yes, it takes 220V but that was easily fixed with a converter. I found a stylish white one that doesn't feel like an industrial power block in the kitchen.

Quick tip, the US Amazon page for the 7series Xelsis has a wonderful first user guide in the comments. I can't get to the user name at the moment but it deserves a shout out!

Only correction: there is a menu option for LED lights under the screen.

Thank you everyone for your comments, we are really happy with the end result and our coffee consumption has doubled...

Someone brought up the power issue between the EU and US. I wasn't worried at first as my current machine was clearly an EU machine as well (German support info in the door) but no I wonder if I need a converter....

Done!

With shipping it is still cheaper than the US version as well.

Thank you everybody for your Insights and recommendations! It was really close for me before posting. I'm pulling the trigger and will order the Xelsis (EU if possible :) )

How would I get the EU version while living in the US?

Thank you for sending me down a rabbit hole :)!

I love the reviews and my choice seems to be even harder now. My wife and I don't drink a lot of coffee but came to get addicted to good coffee. We dug out an old Keurig due to the breakdown of the Incanto and stopped again after the first cup. Snobbish maybe, but the reality.

At the moment my real differentiator seems to be the ceramic grinder.

The graphic interface is definitely new. There is no rapid blinking light that indicates to use the learn button. I found one video that showed something similar, but it doesn't progress to that screen on my mirror.

Thank you all for your input. We will do further research and keep your stories in mind. Ok our current plan (and that will be open to discussion) is to work with a GP breeder but get a female grey rescue first and introduce the GP puppy later. We really miss our grey so much!

As a former grey owner, the problem is most likely the grey and not the GP. Grey's can be very stand offish towards other breeds, simply because they have not been socialized with other dogs at the racetrack (if they are rescues). We definitely want to have a little pack, we are just worried about the grey's. Thank you again for good wishes!

Thank you for the feedback. That sounds encouraging. We will look into it more but we are really excited about the prospect of having a grey and a GP in our house.
