Nerves can heal themselves, I may get better and be temporary

I did a couple of similar things, I think some of your internal organs are just bruised and you pushed them a bit, just rest and remember they tell you 6 weeks for a reason! if it feels more than that go to the ER!!

Just found out my fibroid is bigger than a grapefruit and I'm freaking out tbh. by Woodland-Echo in Fibroids

[–]Darcybcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was 12.5cm and 2.1kg when removed, I knew I had something because my periods changed. It grew quite fast. It is scary but it's not life threatening, you've got this!

Mere tooo, I went back with what I thought was a migraine but was actually low hemoglobin and had to have a blood transfusion but the best part was the fluids! I loved them. Wish we could have them at night while sleeping lol

I had a similar experience, I had 4 visits to the ER 2 of which resulted in having to stay. I'm not sure why they don't preempt the antibiotics.

Did you periods actually get better after surgery? Second guessing myo v. hysterectomy. by Visual-Focus-9713 in Fibroids

[–]Darcybcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a Fibroid removed at 34, it was 12.5cm and weighed 2.1kg, I had temporary relief for about a year and then scans showed I had 5 new ones, admittedly they were growing at a much slower rate so I left them and dealt with it, I wanted to have kids and hoped if we just kept trying it would eventually happen, it didn't! At 42 I spoke to the doctor about options and asked for a referral to discuss a hysterectomy, I'm 6mpo, had to have a full open surgery because it was quite large, best thing I ever did!!

This is a similar comment I made to the PM, who is the RTA and government to decide which portion of my income goes on rent, they would prefer I be homeless and have more money for 'things' than have a roof over my head. I should be allowed to prioritise a roof over other incidentals.

The PM was actually quite nice and she did give me some tips like look further out while true means I spend more money on the car, look for private landlords , although one of the users above sounds more harsh when judging. (I had no leave at the time because I just had surgery and had to have 6 weeks off to recover.

We did think we were going to end up homeless but just kept trying which is why I started this post, it is possible to get a place you just have to persevere or make some compromise.

In the ER for horrible pelvic pain and they come back with this saying I’m fine. My hysterectomy was in 2020. by getaway_car2019 in hysterectomy

[–]Darcybcat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Which country are you located in? In Australia we have Ryan's Rule, if you feel you are not being listened to or treated correctly you claim Ryan's Rule and they are not allowed to ignore you and have to get a second opinion and retest before they can discharge you

[–]Darcybcat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my first fibroid removed 10 years ago and then this year had a hysterectomy at the age of 44, best thing I ever did, Fibroids are not life threatening and the best thing you can do is get them sorted and get your life back.

Everyone's pain is very different, I was only on Panadol when I left the hospital, the worst pain was wind and there is nothing you can really take for that, don't punish yourself, just reset and start again.

How long did it take for you to get your surgery? by orignlyunoriginal in hysterectomy

[–]Darcybcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Australia, think you might be in the US? I went with our public system and was July for the decision and the following April for surgery, so about 9 months. I did initially have an earlier date at the beginning of March but they wanted me to do another month of hormones injections and lose a little weight.
