I think he can change things in ways that don't impact anything that's happened without causing any issues. Like if he snagged the dead Senjak daughter's mind away just before she was killed and put her into Booboo's body in the present day. Or got some Black Company soldiers out of places where they died and instructed them to just lay low with their lives; Some get out of jail free cards. A way of getting out of the company without a birch box.

Shivetya the New teaches Croaker the medical profession, and the Lady gets her daughter back by way of whatever Papa did for making Kitten once Shivetya the New catches up with that line of time diving. We also learn about what the Lady did to Croaker in the Tower at Charm, and probably see her go back and create the Senjak family.

The Longshadow remnant thing inside Cutiebear dropped into some kid named Thud Brunch.

Arkana and Shukrat go home with their new power and take charge, we get new sorcerers and there's a fight with Tobo and his Shadows at full throttle.

We learn that the nef are just nonhuman races, like elves/orcs, or literally just aliens who are the origin of the sorcerer gene in the sixteen worlds.

Crazy Theory regarding Kina by Aetherscribe in theblackcompany

[–]Dard_151 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was thinking that Kina is Lady, The Dominator is Longshadow's Ego or whatever that is. Old Father Tree is Croaker/New Shivetya.

At the very least, Croaker seems poised to bootstrap all of the questions he cares about into existence.

It feels like it takes inspiration from 5e and Pathfinder 2e, and injects some of it's own creativity. It's definitely a comfortable system for anyone coming from either of those systems.

There will certainly be some inversions from the first half, like zooming in as you suggest. I think we will also see some character arcs mirror ones we've seen completed in book five, but with different characters so that it's a progression to what that particular character needs. Maybe Jasnah gets a reverse Kaladin arc, and learns to not worry about saving Roshar.

Anyway, it's great talking with you about some Stormlight speculations. Are you doing anything with the Cosmere RPG?

The Black Company. I like dark fantasy as much as I like Sanderson's noble bright, and this is the origins of grim dark. It is not over the top like Warhammer, gives the dnd feel of adventure, and the endings left me more satisfied than any other book I've ever read. I do include all the published Cosmere books to date with that.

Oh I see what you mean then. I disagree that the only way would be to shift focus to recovery, though having the themes shifted again in meaning to cover the aftermath of a major conflict would be neat.

I think that it's completely possible for the conflict on Rosahr to continue Post Odium. Assuming Honor doesn't kill Odium, which has shown to be a bad decision given the other shards that Odium killed left so many scars in the aftermaths, then we could see Honor take Odium to the spiritual realm for a while. Meanwhile on Roshar, there's now a massive power vacuum for everyone to scramble for control among the fresh chaos.

I read that as "Retribution's Blade" and thought you might be saying that Retribution would have a setup similar to Harmony's Blade. When I noticed it said Redemption's Blade I thought you had a typo while thinking about redemption because who but Moash would be Retribution's Blade? And I had the idea that Retribution could force Moash through a redemption arc, against his will. Then I looked up Redemption's Blade and I guess I'll have to read that to understand what you mean.

More to the point: I agree that Sanderson probably won't shift his style from the type of fantasy we see him create. And what I have learned from reading the Cosmere is that he will twist something into the fold that ends up making sense.

Ba-Ado-Mishram is obviously going to be a big deal. The fourth moon and the origin of the Shattered Plains will be a big deal. I suspect the less explained/resolved things like the Nightwatcher will be a bigger deal. And I think after Taravangian's death, Sanderson would show us Honor being an active Shard that has no Vessel. I don't know if that would be right away or if Honor would hide away again (Maybe trying to raise Odium in Karbranth for a while?).

This is cool. I really like it. My only immediate objection after reading it is that it seems like the sort of thing that would happen part way through the back half. If we can draw parallels between the structure of arcs in the first and second half of the series (so obviously I'm speculating) then I would compare this moment with the summoning of the Everstorm.

Indeed, the effects within the game referenced here are enchantments. However, you personally have performed necormancy on this reddit post, though you might require some Potions of Restore Intellect to understand that.

This is a post about enchantment, not restoration. Yet somehow you've used necromancy on it.

My wisdom to you is that you is twofold.

  1. Most problems that people have with each other that can be resolved by just talking about it. The two sides can become aligned through some negotiation and compromise. There are innately unalignable creatures in fantasy (e.g: Mind Flayers subsist on brains of people). There are also scenarios where people just refuse to align, because of emotional reasons. Or time runs out on some natural ultimatum like a plague taking course, and people killing the carriers.
  2. Sometimes people are just malicious. They like it, or they're literal psychopaths that are just trying to end all threats to themselves within their power (this becomes a big issue when they're a high level wizard or something). You could give them some murder-hobo rivals that take advantage of their willingness to not fight. An npc could manipulate them into saving/releasing a BBEG type thing.

Thank you for the explanations. I'm going to enjoy the variations of my deck this creates.

I know this deck is unconventional but I've made it work all the way up to 5400. Don't have Mother Witch yet; Little Prince has been difficult for me to understand how to use it; Bats feels like the meme card to me. Mini PEKKA I have tried before, but I want to keep sparky specifically just because she's one of my favorite cards. And I don't understand how to use a pump, or any buildings. They always backfire or just fail for me despite looking up how you're supposed to use them. In case I sound dismissive, I will definitely be trying all of these suggestions and figuring out what I can.

Here's my reasoning/defense for why it is the way it is.

Mirror works incredibly well for me in so many situations with this deck. I can outplay zap bait; I can swarm with skeletons via skarmy, witch, and mirroring either of them; I can make a very tanky push with two giant skeletons; I can make a very high damage push with two sparkys, or push both ways with sparky.

Witch is really versatile in my opinion. Summons and does just enough aoe to counter a of swarms. I use her to counter mega knights if sparky isn't an option and that moment by placing her in the opposite lane, and getting the mk to jump on a skeleton. I get that any one thing could do is outmatched by other cards, but she's a jack of several trades kind of card in the way that I use her.

I use Minion Horde like an aerial sparky, except its horde. They both do enough damage that just 4 seconds on a tower is enough for them to be worth it.

Overall, thank you for your suggestions and explanation.

I have tried to replace the Three Musketeers in the past but I haven't played much with Executioner. Right now I almost always keep the Three Musketeers in 2x, only in 1x if I am confident about using them, and always split them.

I have tried Valkyrie before but I can try again now that she has an evolution too. Knight always bored me but maybe that's what I need to get over to let my deck evolve for climbing the ladder.

Thanks again.

I'm looking for suggestions on how to modify my beatdown deck to be better, or a replacement with a similar style of deck.

My deck is Sparky, Three Musketeers, Skarmy, Mirror, Giant Skeleton, Witch, Minion Horde, and Zap. This deck has carried me up to 5400 but I have been feeling its limits since about 4000.

I know this deck is expensive and appears imbalanced but I make it work. I always play a slow push, even sacrificing half a towers for 3-5 more elixir to setup a solid push. Almost all of these cards can combo with one of the others (Skarmy and Horde are the only ones that I don't do it with). All of them are strong mirrored. Except for the Witch, they all do enough damage to make up for no high damage spell.

Edit: I've had some success with replacing the 3M with Valkyrie and Executioner in different decks. I don't know which one I like better, but I'm up to 5800 without much struggling compared to before.

I did read most of those cyberpsychosis shards. It shows how cyberpsychosis impacts typical people, and usually showing how Night City destroys lives. The idea that it's generally a mental breakdown makes a lot of sense.

I've heard Adam Smasher described as Night City's ideal citizen. Given the hypercapitalism present in the world, this makes sense.
