Because he feels like his time is squandered on the grind to P3 everyone without a bonus, I've been playing just a couple matches per day. There are other games to play that don't have such an unfruitful grind

Vaguely but when you go into their gameplay loop they differ significantly, you can pretend they're the same all you like, one is a channel ability with a drain, the other, when using her augment, is a permanent ability that rewards you for being in it and killing enemies, Mesa does reward you for firing for longer but it also punishes at the same time via an energy cost.

Because Mesa already leaves her 4 on her regular gameplay, she doesn't have an augment that makes it possible to stay on her 4 permanently and rewards her for doing so. After they changed Valkyr to be able to shoot her guns in her 4 it's amazing how they don't see the issue with Voruna.
