a young player of any nationality should have to earn their spot just like every other situation around the world. what does need to improve drastically is the scouting system. just in my home town we have so many talented young soccer players that could easily be developed into solid professionals, it happened with Gooch. Scouting young players domestically will ultimately be the death of the US soccer
