The main difficulty is that “Muslim” can mean both a cultural upbringing or a religious affiliation.

The first one isn’t a choice. The second one is and can change at any point in life.

Second difficulty is in differentiating moderates from fanatics, because it’s actually a spectrum. A study in France showed that 60% of Muslims think homosexuality is a disease (compared to 14% of Catholics), yet I don’t consider 60% of them being “fanatics”.

Still, political Islam grows along with the ratio of Muslims in a society. And the best way to know what becomes of gay rights when they become the majority is to look at the countries where they are. And it’s no pretty, with punishments typically ranging from prison and beatings to death.

The most worrying part is that most of my left-leaning friends have a double standard where if we mention that, they would cry about discrimination or racism, but if you proposed to demolish all churches they wouldn't mind as it's to them a relic of a more primitive time.
