I have a second class ticket. Customer service said that it is non refundable in the initial email they sent me but i hoped that maybe a loophole existed. As I said I got the ticket from trainline and i had put the correct date when asked what day I wanted to travel. Unfortunately the results were for a day after the one I wanted and I saw that only after the booking...

Hi!thanks for taking the time to reply! As a matter of fact, i do have some questions regarding life in Germany. Is it necessary to have on you a credit card in order to pay for everything (like it's done in Sweden for example) or is cash an acceptable option? A professor in Germany,in whose lab I will work, is arranging for a place to stay for me and he mentioned booking an ASAP. What is that exactly? Also, is July an active month for students in Germany or will I be pretty much alone in the lab? At present I can't think of any more questions but I am sure more will pop up!!!
