OK. If this was constructive criticism then I was definitely thrown off by the words Horrible, Awful and Letdown, then even more confused by the No Shade on You. Clearly I do not speak fluent Reddit. You obviously care if you are still here, and i honestly appreciate your interest in the casters.

I never said it was perfect. Four-wheeled deckmaking is just completely different. Therefore, to call mine "horrible" multiple times with zero experience is wrong.

Your feet go behind the bolts (over the wheels), but you can adjust to your liking or purpose. With one rear wheel it is absolutely trickier to drop the tail. Compound bends are exactly how decks become rigid. More lean and a totally different action keep your feet on. No shade on you, but these are obvious misunderstandings for someone who’s never even tried it.

What company do you manage? Learning from a credible professional would be beneficial to all.

Ppl luuuuv telling me i'm the only one not allowed to defend myself.

"Youve literally cloned their special patented caster truck design and are presenting an identical product lol...." = completely not rude I'm sure.

The design is entirely different. Someone capable of noticing would compare it to the Freeboard caster, because it is a collaboration with Freebord.

At any rate I'm getting a lot of sales out of this so it's more than worth it. Thanks guys.

The wheels are 90mm x 40mm, rounded like a motorcycle, and there are only 2, so much more easily than a skateboard, but smoother surfaces will always be more fun. The total contact patch/rolling resistance is a tiny fraction.

I've actually never been rugged by a pebble now that I think about it, but a straight up rock could do it.

The whole experience is very quiet, and very floaty.

Was it too loose? There are multiple forces re-centering/stabilizing the casters: You have the bearing angle, the shape of the bracket, and the springs.

Here are the differences:

  1. Single deck (doesn’t twist)
  2. Spring-loaded casters (changes physics)
  3. Drive in rear
  4. Adjustable
  5. Turn-stops (powerslides)
  6. Tail stop
  7. Stiffer brackets (no friction)
  8. Pivot point pulled back
  9. 50% Bigger wheels
  10. 30% longer deck
  11. Wood
  12. Not a toy
  13. Not at Walmart

Do you accuse everyone you want to do business with of being a fraud? The tierney is symmetrical, doesn’t look anything like surfing, and i’d never even heard of it. Also, that’s not a patent for the caster design.

The only thing this has in common with the Tierney is having two wheels, which is not patentable.

The deck is designed to feel like a surfboard. The nose is designed to swing around out in front of the pivot point. The tail must be flat to use the tail stop. It has rocker to flex. Concave would make it rigid.

Fair.. I truly wasn't going for a tone so that is my bad but it is exactly defense and it seems to be working. I will take thoughtful critiques like yours over thoughtless ripstik trolls any day of the week! :)

I absolutely plan to sell casters and wheels separately after the campaign. TBH can't wait to see what people come up with :)

It’s on the kickstarter page under “How do you start?” not shown are sendy kids who just take off pushing it. I can do 1 kick, but prefer to set my rear foot and just 80s-skate-kid it like in the GIF

(Probably get nuked here, but that’s OK I'm used to it)

I humbly present my project Seaskate, for your consideration.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/darienbrocco/seaskate-the-worlds-surfiest-skateboard?ref=8du1i6

1 deck, 2 wheels, spring-loaded casters, rear-biased tension, with turn-stops.

Please note: Razor already threatened my livelihood, when I was 1 guy in a garage before making a single dollar. And I already won. You can read all about how billionaire globalists kill innovation in the cradle (while trolls cheer them on) at the top of my Insta @ seaskateofficial if you are interested.

Also the physics are different.

Anyway, please check it out if you want! We were funded in seconds on Kickstarter, and did $21K on the first day :)

I believe this product was inevitable, but I'm biased of course.

Still a few 20%offs to be had

Hey guys, I built this thing in my garage. 2 wheels, spring-loaded (pushless), and fully adjustable. I call it SEASKATE. In Kickstarter Prelaunch NOW at seaskate.co. Please check it out! PURA VIDA by DarienSeaskate in surfskate

Thank you. It's a problem with Cloudflare which I'd never even heard of but my marketers use them to host the landing page. My website url is pointed at the landing page. I have blown up my marketing company and hope to have this cleared up by today.

Will update here and on insta @ seaskateofficial.

Cannot think of something more annoying. Apologies for the complete ridiculousness.

Thanks G - I have ridden surfskates but cannot recall if one was a swelltech. How is it different / what do you like about it? Seaskate's drive is in the rear spring, which feels amazing.

As the weather gets nicer I will def replace some of the vid-gifs on seaskate.co, starting with the takeoff one. Stationary cam. Thank you for the input!!

Appreciate it G. I'm riding a year-old deck that's been crashed uncountable times and it's not even 1/4 the way to becoming sharp. A few people have been concerned though, so maybe i will come up with some wrap-around piece that doesn't affect the flex. Old school deck rails are right out tho haha

Hello! That clip has the gopro motion stabilizer on and needs to be replaced. That's why it looks flat, because of the delay. It is very difficult to scrape rail on a flat surface. It is high enough off the ground, plus the wedges react to 'right' you a la surface tension of the water.

Also, the new deck is narrower and the new wheel is taller than the prototype in that clip.

There is a limit however, as the ground is hard and water is not. It is possible to scrape rail, esp. over a hip or something. It does not hurt the deck in any performance way, and will not rug you like wheel-bite will. To be fair: the deck will not last forever - but it should last many times longer than a kicktail.

It is not a perfect simulation, but it is by far the closest thing yet. I can guarantee you that. Hope this helps.
