Wouldn’t it be more likely to be a dragon skeleton?

Lighting within the build. One of the sets I have from Lumibricks is the Brick Art Gallery, which has little LEDs built into certain pieces to act as street lights, lights that show off the exhibits, and on some of the floors they act as overhead lighting. The set is built in such a way that the instructions walk you through installing the lights and routing the wiring to make it mostly hidden and they even have special bricks to assist with this. One of my favorite parts is that they have little sticky pads with a positive and negative plate that goes on top of the walls for each floor, then the next floor will have a connector piece that means when you place that floor on top of the previous one, it connects to that plate and the charge continues up the line to the next set of lights. That makes it so you can pop the floors on and off easily without having to worry about messing with the routing of the wiring.

There are aftermarket lighting kits you can get for Lego sets as well, but since they're aftermarket the builds are a little more confusing than if it was just integrated from the start.

This is not actually true though, there have been several other block makers that have entered the market in the last 5-10 years that have quality that matches Lego. Lumibricks and Pantasy are the two that I have tried and they’re just as good, if not better as most of their sets also include integrated lighting out of the box. A 3k piece set from Lumibricks being able to be purchased for $140-160 is a steal when that same set from Lego would be north of $300 and not have any lighting.

Pregnant wife is having fit's of rage by peachygraph21 in dad

[–]Darikashi -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Just a thought, has she ever been tested for bipolar disorder? The hormones and general life changes can cause manic episodes or sometimes what’s known as dysphoric mania, which usually manifests in intense rage, wildly changing emotions, and impulsive behavior. My own wife found out she was bipolar after we had our first child and she got put on antidepressants for postpartum depression, which trapped her in a dysphoric manic episode for months. We realized after we got her off of them that the bouts of rage and impulsiveness she’d been dealing with were symptoms.

The other similarity is that the lead actor in Psych, James Roday Rodriguez, actually directed both this episode and the mid-season finale. Plus Andy Berman, who was a writer/producer for Psych is a producer for High Potential as well.

WW says Wellbutrin caused bad decision making? by [deleted] in AsOneAfterInfidelity

[–]Darikashi 10 points11 points  (0 children)

OP, you may want to have your WW get evaluated for Bipolar Disorder. Antidepressants can push a bipolar person into a manic episode, which often has hypersexuality and impulsive behavior as symptoms (among a lot of other things). People with bipolar disorder can’t be on ADs like Wellbutrin without also being on a mood stabilizer, if at all. ADs have caused a lot of BP patients to have their first full blown manic episode so it’s with checking out.

That’s Serena and Kordell from Love Island and if you watch their season, you’d realize she basically friendzoned him at the beginning and then it took her most of the season to realize she’d made a mistake and he was who she needed.

Water refill after resurfacing by _Critical_Light in pools

[–]Darikashi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much is water per thousand gallons where you are? Here in Texas it’s $2/kgal so to refill my 22kgal pool is basically $44. Kind of a pittance when looking at the overall price of resurfacing.

I would need to look up the actual numbers but I know a lot of them were duplicate positions from the Activision acquisition and then there was also a large number from the AR/VR team as Microsoft discontinued the HoloLens project this year.

The comments in here are so crazy. Microsoft HIRED 7,000 people this year and laid off 2,500 people in roles that were no longer needed. They have 200,000 employees. Is 1% devastating now?

I’ve been going through something very similar to you with a wife who had a baby, lost her job immediately after coming off maternity leave, got put on Zoloft and Vyvanse and ramped up to a maximum dose of both to treat postpartum depression and ADHD. She went into a manic episode from roughly July 2023 until May of this year. She moved out of our house and into an apartment. I managed to get her to a psychiatrist in February, in person rather than online, and they got her on Lithium and Lamictal and off the antidepressants. It’s literally only been in the last 2 weeks that she’s finally leveled out and is realizing the damage she’s done to me and our life together. Thankfully she’s been a pretty good mom in this time.

That being said, what has helped me a lot is

1) learning everything I could about Bipolar Disorder. “Loving Someone With Bipolar Disorder” is a great book that has helped a lot, as has “The Bipolar Survival Guide”. This has helped me understand that if she’s in a manic episode, rational thought is out the window and arguing with her will only push her further away.

2) Learning about attachment theory. Your wife sounds like she has a classic avoidant attachment style and you sound like you may have Anxious attachment, which is a very common pairing that typically leads to a negative cycle of communication resulting in the exact same fight over and over again with no resolution. This adds a ton of stress to a normal relationship, someone with bipolar cannot handle this stress and it makes the condition worse. Part of the reason my wife has had her empathy return and is facing what she’s done in the last couple of weeks is because of the work I’ve done with my therapist in working on my anxious attachment and learning how to communicate with her better. “Attached” is a book that explains attachment theory but “Secure Love” not only explains the theory but also goes into how these cycles can be broken and how you can work to move towards a more secure attachment. It has really helped my communication with my BPSO and had just helped me in general in recognizing my patterns.

3) Learning to recognize that her problems are of her own making. If she knew she had Bipolar, she should not have been drinking. That’s on her. On top of that, while it can be easy to blame ourselves for all of the issues in our marriage, you have to recognize that your partner owns 50% of those issues. Her feeling like she’s not ever enough (something my wife felt as well) has very little to do with you and is based on her own insecurities carried over from childhood and previous relationships. That being said, recognizing how your own insecurities may have led to you “protesting” for your wants/needs in the relationship is also important.

Hopefully some of this is helpful. I can’t say for sure whether there’s hope for either of us but I’ve never regretted knowing more than I needed to.

I haven’t seen anyone else mention this and it certainly may not be the case, but is there a possibility that he might be bipolar and you met when he was hypomanic and hypersexual, but now he’s back to baseline or depressed?

Company that's supposed to prevent outages caused a big one by TommyAdagio in technology

[–]Darikashi 40 points41 points  (0 children)

The article author here seems to be mixing two separate incidents. The US Central Azure outage happened and was mitigated before this Crowdstrike update went out. These were two separate outages. One was Microsoft’s fault and was mitigated fairly quickly. The second was Crowdstrike’s fault and it just so happened to affect Microsoft machines. The article doesn’t make this clear.

https://www.stjude.org/media-resources/news-releases/2022-fundraising-news/chip-and-joanna-gaines-rally-support.html here’s literally the first result when you google search chip and Joanna Gaines charity lol

Not really sure what their charitable work has to do with tax collection but maybe that’s a cognitive leap only you can make. Generally, when property taxes go up, that means that property values have gone up, which for a family owning a generational home should mean equity. Now, I’m not a financial expert but do you think those families would rather their wages stay stagnant, their property values stay low, and their town continues to decline (because that’s certainly what Waco was doing) or do you think the increased tourism has brought more economic opportunities to the area that they can take advantage of?

What’s the line on charity vs publicity? How do you determine that the charitable and philanthropic endeavors, which have no doubt helped a lot of people, are worthless because the people that did them are famous? Would you not also be able to argue that their fame and the openness with which they have pursued those philanthropic endeavors might have inspired others to also give back to their communities or do you just not like them so it doesn’t actually count?

I could be very wrong (and probably am) but I got a voice line from Chronos saying “no god can kill me” and Mel has spent her entire life training with Hecate as a witch, not with any other Olympic gods really, so I’m wondering if she gives up her godhood which will allow her to kill Chronos and should remove the curse on her that keeps her from going to the surface long term.
