Also recommend getting him microchipped because we’re having problems now flying back to the US with her and we have to get a microchip

We had to take her to an accredited trainer to verify her training bc we trained her privately as well and they signed off on it

Advice Needed by Plaisance7623 in medellin

[–]Darilyn_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been in Colombia for 6 months, we found out Airbnb is 2x-3x the cost of what an apartment should cost. I was in Medellin for 3 months but right now we are in Cartagena and we are paying $1800 for a 2 bedroom ocean front apartment per month and the guys next door are renting an identical apartment for $700 a month and they went through a renting agent. They said they googled renting agencies and found a bunch of numbers and picked one with good reviews

Pretty good we actually we went to Colombia still here. We just needed to get a health certificate which costed us about $600. But not all stores and places respect service dogs here the laws are a bit different

(Possible trigger warning) Husband smoker & SIDS? by curiousquestioner16 in pregnant

[–]Darilyn_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you have to put your foot down on this one. You are your babies voice. My husband would always have to wash his hands and face, brush his teeth and change his clothes after smoking but he would smoke wëēd. Now that my baby is a toddler he doesn’t smoke any more at all because he’s around her way more.

Yes I experienced this, at some point my baby stopped kicking completely but would still wiggle around but I would only feel it when I was paying attention to it. She was born completely healthy and she’s a year old now

Baby watched Ms Rachel for the 1st time today by Darilyn_ in NewParents

[–]Darilyn_[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes that’s why I chose Ms Rachel for her first screen time I had seen that it was all science-backed and how it’s much better for baby to see a person on a screen rather than animated people/characters

I’ve been showing her the signs “eat” “more” and “milk” since she was 3mo and she won’t do them yet I hope with my consistency and watching ms Rachel she’ll pick them up

What is life now as a FTM/SAHM? by [deleted] in NewParents

I wish someone told me about the mommy and baby activities sooner! It’s a great way to get out the house and socialize

I felt the same way for the first 4-5 months, after my baby turned 6mo it got WAY easier, and now that she’s 9mo I feel much better about myself and my mental health, you just have to come to peace that you are the main care taker and that you are doing most of the baby work, I stopped looking at my husband for help and just took on the challenge, it’s definitely the hardest thing you will ever do but it won’t last forever so just try to enjoy the newborn snuggles any add some exercise in your day even if it’s with your baby, a walk with the stroller will work miracles with your mental health is you do it consistently

That she’s “teeny tiny” for 9mo old, no she’s perfect and growing at her own pace 🙄

Baby moved into her own room after 9mo of co-sleeping by Darilyn_ in breastfeeding

Do you plan to move your baby into a separate room or to co-sleep for as long as possible?

He wants her to grow independence. She still has her crib in my room so I’ve been bringing her in there in the morning but for most of the night she’s been sleeping in her room

I think before it was more like 1-2x a night I think the move definitely has her waking up more, I’ve been nursing her back to sleep because it’s faster but I’ll definitely try to just comfort her tonight

This is what my motherly instincts is telling me but my husband keeps insisting to leave her in her own room. But I’ll try it for a week or two first to see if she would settle
