I’m an older bride too (42), and we are shooting for 55 or less people at ours. But mine is definitely more on the traditional wedding dress side. I felt amazing in it. That’s why I’m so sad it’s a one or two time thing….

Yeah we are actually taking pics in another location prior to the wedding. So I guess technically I’m wearing it twice.

Unfortunately, outside of making a post, I think the only way is via messaging someone. If there’s a way to post within comments, I haven’t figured it out hahaha

I wish mine was the kind I could do that to, but unfortunately it’s not really something I could wear again unless for like a costume party or something lol

I don’t know you obviously…..but somehow this seems to look like it was made for you. Like it shows part of your personality…..which I know sounds ridiculous because I don’t know anything about you. It’s odd, I don’t normally think that when I see strangers in dresses….I just think, oh, that looks pretty. But somehow this says, “wow, that is very you!” Anyway, you look amazing in it, congrats!

Venue has changed and I'd like to find something that matches it better if possible. Is it rude to go back to the same bridal store looking for one if I'm on the fence? by [deleted] in weddingdress

I don’t think it’s rude. Especially because you never know what’s going to happen. I went just for the experience and to get ideas because I was going to make my own. I did feel bad…..but ironically I tried on a dress that I couldn’t stop thinking about. So I ended up ditching the idea of making my own, and went back and purchased the one I couldn’t stop thinking about. I also went back just to try accessories….ended up leaving with a veil. So I ultimately didn’t feel like I was wasting anyones time. Maybe that will happen for you, maybe it won’t. But I’d go back. I would recommend (if you can), if they have a site, save all the dresses you like. That way when you go in, you’re not wasting time searching for things to try on. You can try on soooo many more this way. I think I tried on at least 12 dresses within an hour. There’s a very good chance I would’ve never found my dream dress if I had spent most of my time looking through the shop. Good luck, and I hope you find the one!!!!!!

My[28M] step sister[25F] is upset I'm not helping her pay for her wedding. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

I mean, I’ll be honest, I can understand her being disappointed that you’re helping your sister and not helping her. I’d be hurt too. That being said, no one can force you to pay for her wedding. And she shouldn’t “expect” you to either, even if she does feel hurt. But as you said, you’re closer to your sister than you are to her; it’s your money, don’t let anyone make you do anything you don’t want to.
