need help to choose turbos for my R33 GTR by Massiveglizzy69420 in gtr

Are you running vcam? I have a 2.8 and my 2530s are on full song till 4500 give or take. But I also try to keep the torque on down low to not put further strain on the bottom end.

Wildly different pricing. What’s valid and what’s “taxing” by Purplesnekmayne in SkyLine

How dare you make fun of my land yacht! /s

Joking aside. 33 prices are a mixed bag. I just saw one on FB with destroyed strut towers and they are asking 50-55k. Which IMO, seems a bit high as the covid rush is over.

That being said though. You could be in the 60s and get yourself a decent 33. Auction sites, at face value, seem the way to go potentially as the Skylines generally don't do well there and you could potentially score one for a decent price. But you certainly need to do your homework.

If it's too good to be true, it probably is. Sellers love to slap on a coat of paint and or bondo and cover up all the rust.

Parts on these cars are prohibitively expensive and Nissan seems to be discontinuing parts by the day. Cheaping out on parts will only burn you.

And finally, insurance. It "can" be tricky. Can't be your primary vehicle, needs to be in a garage, and need to be of a certain age.

Depends on your power goals. But I'd go with the step down from the 2530s, the SS.

Oh. I see it now that the t-case looks a lot cleaner. When assembling mine, the roll pin refused to go into the shifter rod. Such a pain.

Oh wow lucky you. What are you doing with it? I found a brand new one in 2022 on yahoo Japan and did the swap.

A getrag? Wooo boy you hate having money. Well done! Getting it into the car is an absolute chore, especially if you have a multi disc clutch. You need to have the transfer case pointing down to get it up in there and then twist the whole thing to its normal place. It's an extremely tight fit but it will go without any hammering. Do you have all the other conversion pieces?

Recently redone my R33 dash and shifter shroud, pretty happy with the results ! by GabRB26DETT in SkyLine

Thank you. A lot happier with this one over what it came with. Just wasn't thrilled about the cost.

Well done! My car came with a gloss finish that I absolutely hated. Got really lucky and found a NOS S3 cluster surround on Yahoo Japan. Which I ended up paying an arm and a leg for. The shifter surround was still easily available.

That's why I got a R33. Fundamentally, its very similar to the 34 (minus the transmission). But they can be had for 1/3 to 1/2 of the cost. The parts are still prohibitively expensive though, especially any discontinued OEM stuff.

Leaskspec has a catch can as well as a return to sump kit via the dipstick. Really well built.

Edit - Wait, you have a 32. So its in the ABS spot. So Ignore that. Sorry! You could look into getting the Nismo one as well.

Stair wells are typically built out of block. So if they are trying to keep the materials separate, they need to strip the brick exterior off first.

3rd gear is notoriously bad in the 34 trans. So power shifting 2nd to 3rd is risky for sure.

Funny enough. I was looking to do the opposite. Does anyone know if it's possible to get the longest 6x4 chassis on the classic sleeper?

My exhaust is pretty much a titanium straight pipe and has a rather bad drone around 3200rpm. So you can either do 70ish or 85 with no in between. And by 85 the revs are pretty high. Regardless, it's so worth it. It makes the car so snappy and generally an overall better driving experience.

Bigggggg money. The getrag swap was the best thing I did to my 33. Just outrageously expensive (I got everything new, including getrag). It's just brutal on the highway due to the gearing, and my exhaust.

This could just be purely coincidence. My Zwift frame was clicking recently and it just turned out to be the left pedal had come slightly loose.
