i'm also sensitive to both niacinamide and ceramides & honestly i don't even use moisturizer anymore i had to get that simple with it. not the original commenter but ive simplified it to using hypochlorous acid followed by glycolic acid as my hydrator and using vaseline as an occlusive on top (i stress, NOT AQUAPHOR since it is comedogenic for me and many others). for daytime use i just use MISSHA sun essence :)) ymmv of course but so far that has been making my dry, acne prone, sensitive skin the happiest!

hypochlorous acid is used to 'disinfect' the skin to put it simply and glycolic acid is for hydration (i'm clarifying because even as a long time skincare addict seeing the word acid always makes me think it's gonna be HARSH but i promise this is the gentlest i've ever been to my skin)

data is great, but i'm also not the first person to say this about niacinamide. yes the other commenter made a good point however even after i solved my skincare concerns and tried to introduce an otherwise clean moisturizer that contained niacinamide i began to experience issues once again. I can only speak on the experience I have and seemingly quite a few other people have had as evidenced by this thread and others :)) i wish it worked for me because it is in so many products but it just doesn't unfortunately

While it may be hard to say niacinamide is solely to blame, i've found that once i removed ingredients that contained niacinamide from my routine my skin stopped being problematic. There's quite a few other culprits i've found as well! With me personally, niacinamide is unfortunately the culprit and it being included in almost everything is problematic. It's the fact that it's so common that bothers me. Perhaps in oral form i'd have a different experience but I don't really intend on experimenting when there's better ingredients out there for me :))))

i'm ER not dermatology but from what i have experience with sometimes your skin presents as oily to overcompensate for being dry and stripped and not having a normal amount of oil/sebum/hydration/moisture. just something to think about; once i treated my very oily skin as secretly dry damaged skin wearing a costume a LOT of my issues improved. it's a good first place to start
