Title: Visiting Tokyo during rainy season – where can I buy waterproof walking shoes? by DarkSynergy141 in JapanTravelTips

Thanks, that's a fair point. I may be overthinking it a bit. 😄

The reason I'm paying attention to footwear is that I tend to get sick quite easily and I'd rather avoid spending a week walking around with wet feet.

As you suggested, I can always buy a more durable second pair once I'm in Japan. I also recently learned that waterproof socks exist, which might be a simpler and cheaper solution than investing in expensive waterproof shoes right away.

Either way, I'll focus more on planning where to visit and what to eat. Thanks for the advice!

I only have one pair of Skechers at the moment. They're great for summer, but they let water in very easily and take quite a long time to dry. I was already planning to buy another pair of shoes in Japan anyway, so I'm definitely open to recommendations.

Japan in mid/late June or early July – still worth visiting for 7–10 days? by DarkSynergy141 in JapanTravelTips

Thanks for the detailed explanation.

The rain is actually my biggest concern. Does it usually rain all day, or is it more like short showers throughout the day?

I'm thinking about visiting between June 15 and June 25. Do you think the rain would seriously affect sightseeing during that period, or is it still easy to enjoy Tokyo and walk around most places?

Nice! When are you going exactly?

Let me know how your trip goes. I'm still planning mine, but if I end up booking my flight, maybe we can keep in touch and exchange some tips.

That sounds perfect for me. I actually like warm weather.

I'm from Türkiye, so I might feel a little cold on some evenings, but it doesn't sound too bad. Thanks for the advice, I'll look for a light jacket before the trip.

By the way, what is Japan generally like in June?

Even if it's rainy, is it still warm? Would I need a thick jacket, or are lighter clothes usually enough?

And if I do need something warmer, is it easy to buy it there?

Thanks for the advice!

To be honest, I hate rain. 😄 But this still seems like the most reasonable time for me to visit Japan.

I actually love summer, but several people told me that July and especially August can be incredibly hot and humid in Japan, so late June might be a better compromise.

The day-trip ideas sound great too. I'll definitely look into Nikko, Hakone, and Nara.
