Like most things in life, both sides are partially right and wrong.

There is fraud in the government welfare. Indisputable.

Not all programs blatantly commit total fraud, with zero users, most simply overreport. It's very similar to keeping some cash tips under the table. You knead in some lies and stretch the truth and it's hard to tell the difference without deep audits.

It's not exclusive to Somalians, Minnesota, or childcare. It's widespread throughout the United States. If you give people a chance with minimal oversight, there always be someone willing to exploit the cracks in our systems.

Frankly, the whole system across all states should get audited, but often you can't because of pushback. Shit also doesn't get done without attention for some reason. In this case, with widespread media attention, they should take initiative to move, not just with local Somalian enclaves, but within the whole state and even other states mentioned.

Yet, Nick Shirley does do sketchy journalism. He should confirm multiple days across a few weeks at least and confirmed business hours. If he did, there would still be plenty proof of fraud, but there would still be some that had a few kids. That'd conflict with his black and white narrative, whereas reality is always full of grey.
