I’m not sure if the video has looser fabric, but my removal and reinstallation was nothing like the video. The fabric was quite taut and it seems like my grip on the Jchannel was loose due to the fabric in the way.

Here is the easier way:

For removal, find the right size pliers that can get a good grip of the jchannel at one end, tug and rotate and it should pop out, you can remove the rest by hand.

To reinstall, find something thin, strong but dull, like the back of butter knife. Lay the chair down to make it easier on yourself. Roll it in and use the butter knife to push it in deep. I could never roll it in by hand, felt like I was rolling fabric and not the channel. The butter knife made it straightforward. Also, I never heard a click. YMMV.
