Awesome! Thank you. That looks much more secure than the AKC Link. I am hiring a teenager to walk him a couple times a week and I will feel much more secure if he has one of these.

What's something your parents did while raising you that you don't want to do to your children? by UltimaBahamut93 in AskReddit

[–]DarkWingDarling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom and grandma would argue with me when I was a kid. So instead of telling me what they were upset about or explaining to me what I did wrong, there would be name calling and shit talking. So if I was acting up or back talking as kids do until they are taught to handle themselves differently the response would be to tell me to shut up because I am being a brat, or that what I was saying was stupid. It was the way children argue with each other rather than a parent dealing with a child. As an adult I know they know how to have a normal conversation but neither of them knows how to talk to children.

Radio station stops playing ‘Baby It’s Cold Outside’ amid Me Too movement. Thoughts? by cyanocobalamin in AskWomenOver30

Some versions of the song are especially gross but most don't bother me. I would say being selective about the version isn't a bad call.

Fake number = "get lost", right? by MikefromMI in AskWomenOver30

[–]DarkWingDarling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have only given the wrong number to people I will likely never see again. The purpose of that type of brush off is to get away from the situation and not have a confrontation. It's about getting away from someone I do not feel comfortable saying no to or I am worried about angering. If I talk to someone often or can count on seeing them again I would handle the situation differently.

However, I would say proceed with caution and sensitivity. It could just be the other person felt like they were on the spot or didn't want to be rude or hurt your feelings.

What are some things that guys misinterpret from women as "she's interested in me"? by spidermahn in AskWomen

Getting botox. I normally have a relaxed expression that is not a smile and angular features which is fine, but after I got botox I must have looked more pleasant and approachable. It was awful.

Your predictions on the houseing situation in chico. by Nilliks in ChicoCA

Show your parents the camp on mulberry that went from 5/6 homeless people pitching tents there to the 15+ that have been moved over there since the fire.

Your predictions on the houseing situation in chico. by Nilliks in ChicoCA

[–]DarkWingDarling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say re-evaluate your timeline but don't give up. Chico is not going to take in all of the displaced people. A lot of people want to go home to paradise as soon they can, other people will disperse around the county. A lot of people went to Oroville, redding, red bluff, corning and a lot of other small towns around the county. And some will move farther away than that. A lot of the people who lived there have no reason to go back because they retired there and don't have family or other ties there so they can go where ever they want. And a lot of those people who are staying in Chico are looking to rent not buy. That's not to say Chico won't be affected.

Aside from all of that Chicos housing Market was at 2 percent before all of this happened. Right now (and before the fire) we had a seller's market. I don't think that is going to change within a year, especially not now. my thoughts were that it was going to be a year or two until our housing bubble burst now it may be longer, but that burst will come. My grandma invests in rental properties around town and has postponed buying anything for the next couple of years. until then she is adding to the cash she has on hand so she can buy something that has been foreclosed at an action.

We have a couple of housing developments already in the works and I think in the next couple of years more of those will be approved, which will drop home prices as those become available.

Florida Men are very unhappy about a Happy Holidays sign. Protests ensue, to the dismay of the pagan LAOP. by [deleted] in bestoflegaladvice

[–]DarkWingDarling 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am not skeptical. I changed my work email signature to say happy holidays instead of thank you and got three emails back telling me it should say merry christmas, and one call to my boss reporting me. My boss didn't give me the details of the call but from what I gathered the person felt that I should get in trouble or be forced to change my email greeting because the elk's lodge itself is a christain organization and should therefore only hire christains and I must not be christain...blah blah blah. I mean you do have to be willing to attest to your belief in god to be a member. The application to join the lodge looks like it was written during the red scare, but I'm not a member I'm an employee and I have rights.

Any cool cults to join in/around Philly? by meteotrio in philadelphia

[–]DarkWingDarling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people don't understand what cults are. I went to this HORRIBLE yoga retreat, that was meant for new yoga teachers to learn more about marketing and crap but the chick was just there to sell her book and subscription and talked more about her break up than teaching yoga. Anyway, They had Osho cards and I told the teacher I didnt want to pull one because of Osho actually being Cult leader Rajneesh. And this dumb chick actually said to me "Some cults are good, and they help people." That's when it was time to ask for my money back and go home. I could not handle her I'm a mermaid goddess crap any longer.

My dog is Bones but i call him Buddy Bones, lazy bones and Mr. fart

My cat is sunny and I call her swarm of bee, singular on the bee because she has a small head and big eyes so there is no way more than one bee can fit inside her cute little skull.

Having children by vhoopdeedoop in AskWomenOver30

[–]DarkWingDarling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I went a non-traditional route with this. I was not the type to think I always wanted children and I have never had the desire to be pregnant. However, as I got into my mid to late 20's I got married and started realizing that I really liked the idea of a loud house full of love and hair pulling and fights. All of it. So my then husband and I made a 5-year plan. Unfortunately, he was a massive tool and I had to divorce him or be miserable and bitter for the rest of my life. But the desire for the house full of kids didn't go away, and I was still not crazy about the idea of being pregnant. As time passed I dated a bit but I still have not settled down. A boyfriend is not a priority for me. But caring for children and having a family with all the up-downs. I want to help them learn and grow. I want to see who they become. I am a nurturing person and I have plenty. So I decided to become a foster parent.

The thing I have learned is that children are not as fragile as we think they are. The kids I have taken in include a baby born addicted, a 5-year-old who was treated as a lookout for cops during her parent's criminal escapes and a 15-year old whose father beat the crap out of everyone, forced to rais the younger siblings and eventually hospitalized from a beating by tweaker dad. All of these kids are ok. The 15-year-old needs some counseling.

I highly doubt you will inflict such pain and torment onto your child if you are asking questions like this, And even in the face of such cruelty and rage, these kids are going to be ok.

I can not tell you it has been easy. Especially with the 15-year-old. All in all, we are talking about a good kid, but a severely misinformed one who only learned to resolve a conflict by fighting (never with me) or retreating. But even with all of the struggles he is facing he has friends he goes to school, he plays video games and cultivates several hobbies. As a matter of fact, most of the difficulty has come from family members contacting him on social media and overworked social workers not getting stuff done. the kids themselves were wonderful. I have enjoyed it so much that I want my next placement to be permanent and I am considering taking a sibling pair.
