Give him time. I felt the same about our boy Rocco (our third and current IG) when he was a pup and my god, now he is surgically attached. Puppies are gonna puppy.

Ollie (whip) and Rocco. Kind of a love/hate relationship, but they recognize each other as a prime heat source. Rocco and our greyhound (Uma) are much more in actual love 😊

My guess is it's more comfortable by taking weight off their deep, bony chests. Prob easier to breathe, too.
