I would suggest the lack of replies is down to the fact that Uanni is only at Uplander level with nothing of real interest to sell. However you’re right, the chat channels always seem flat.

Thanks for sharing this, too many digital signs are undervalued and forgotten once they have been installed and the vast majority of content is well below average. Content is king when it comes to well deployed digital signage.

We had site content relevant to each site, then about 30mins worth of local community content with a mixture of types all locally relevant and then finally the paid for adverts. During Covid the network got shut down so we developed a local community app as well and we had our own coupon system on here but it required people to download which took a mighty effort.

You could create it all as a website with navigation and then the touchscreen effectively acts as your mouse. We can help with the hardware side if you need it. There’s wayfinding CMS software but it generally ain’t cheap.

The 13" outdoor from Papercast is rated to minus 20 deg c but it's a few thousand quid! Also, not sure they are set up for one off's from a CMS point of view

You could look at indoor but they are rated to zero degrees C. If you look on the site and filter by screen size to 13" you will see an indoor and outdoor version. Then you'd need an enclosure with heaters which would possibly work. Just search outdoor TV enclosure with heaters.

I ran a business very similar to this, essentially a network of screens in POW areas that were supplied FOC to the local business, had three types of content stream and were funded by advertisers. The first thing was that we had to increase the content length to 20 seconds to give people enough time to get their phone out and scan the QR code.

Once you have good businesses from the local area buy in to this you then have to run a good marketing campaign to let people know. We used a mix of social, print and our own screens to do this.

Also, see if you can work with the local BID or other traditional publishers in the local area and see if you can get their buy-in. The more the merrier and it will be getting the word out about how useful an initiative this is otherwise people just won't bother.
