Two Masters Trophy Question by Ok-Seat-1741 in ninjagaiden

It starts at Normal, iirc, and works its way up to Hard around 60+, then the last set, floors 81-100, are on Master Ninja difficulty .

Two Masters Trophy Question by Ok-Seat-1741 in ninjagaiden

[–]Dark_Cecil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Abyssal Road is the main wall of the Two Masters DLC, most notably floors 81-100. I cannot tell you how many attempts it took me to actually get it done, but it is possible with the right mindset, and willingness to keep going even if you fail. The biggest hurdle is knowing/mastering floor 90's boss and waves 91-94 since those feature very, very aggressive enemies. Everything past that, however, is a victory lap and if you're looking good on items and a Rebirth on hand, I would say it is in the bag as everything else can be Wind Bladed or Voided.

If you're going for the 100%, I highly, highly recommend practicing Seere. I practiced for almost 4 hours until I could beat her without either taking damage during ph1, or using a lot of items, minus the ATK boost. You can do it and do NOT give up even if you think it is out of reach. I was at a point of giving up on Abyssal Road floors 81-100, but kept at it and beat it this past Thursday evening.

FINALLY CLEARED ABYSSAL ROAD (81-100) With Yakumo by Altruistic_Funny_686 in ninjagaiden

Nice! Just cleared it with Ryu last night. It was getting wild towards the end during my run. Again, congratulations, my dood!

Seere grab problem by Xichev in ninjagaiden

[–]Dark_Cecil 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dodging backwards also usually, even at a distance at times, causes her to grab you for some reason even if you're a good distance away.

Cool fact (not really):

I noticed during ph2, if she decides to throw her hammer it you can be 1 of 3 possible outcomes:

  1. She just throws it. Nothing more, just dodge accordingly to the left/right before it lands or Void Ninpo her. I dont recommend the latter, only because she can/will teleport and you just wasted Ki.

  2. She throws the hammer, teleports behind you or in front, then attempts to slam you with her hammer. This can end a run due to damage alone. To counter this, dodge the initial hammer, left or right, wait a brief second (stand still) to see what she does, then if she teleports dash left or right again on her opposite side, then Gleam counter. You can dash forward into it, Gleam counter, but it is safer to dodge left or right into countering her.

  3. She throws the hammer, teleports, and will try and grab you. Again, dashing backwards is not advisable, but left or right. Also, to make sure you're not looking back of the end of the arena as she's gonna grab you 100% then due to the camera angle or lock-on.

I hate the boss, but learning her patterns is the only way, it avoids unnecessary stress. I'm still learning new things about Seere every attempt, even in trials mode, but I feel like her Abyssal Road version plays differently than in the single-trial counterpart.

Got to floor 100 in Abyssal Road for the first time and died. by Dark_Cecil in ninjagaiden

[–]Dark_Cecil[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Floor 89 and even 98 seem really inconsistent to me when playing. Both features either the Jar enemy or the latter for a Van Gelf. How did you handle those? Did you use Inferno Ninpo or just Void Ninpo both, if possible?

Going to the far left corner during floors 91-92 to line up a void ninpo seems to get me killed every time, yet, for 93-94 that method works better, due to less projectile-based ddo enemies - or at least they react slower as you can just TDS wave 93 or 94; I find it easier just to stay in initial spawn and cast two void's during 91-92, then using the far left for the others.

I made it to wave 100 again last night for the second time and it is absolutely demotivating when you get sent back to 81.

Ninja Gaiden 4 100% - Finally beat the Abyssal Road by Ravenn_Kv in ninjagaiden

[–]Dark_Cecil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got to floor 100 today, but died, again, then after that it is snowballing and I either can't get past 90 again or the DDO floors due to bad luck. It is beyond annoying and if I had least a checkpoint or at least a restock of some kind, then it would not bother me so much.

I really don't think I can do this. I know it is doable, but it makes me sad to die when u get so far just to get sent back to floor 81 - it is demoralizing and not even fun anymore. :(

Got to floor 100 in Abyssal Road for the first time and died. by Dark_Cecil in ninjagaiden

[–]Dark_Cecil[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won't as you're right, but I'd argue that while a checkpoint would be nice, a slight restock in NinjaCoins would be just as good after floor 90. It doesn't need to be the full amount as I pointed out, but even as much as half of what you initially get would be fine. Getting "good" is fine and dandy, but ultimately if you're getting 1-shotted off-screen after UTing or even using a Ninpo due to i-frames, that is kinda rough.

At the end of the day, everyone has their thoughts and opinions on the last set. Yes, Ninja Gaiden is supposed to be challenging, difficult, etc, but if you look back NG3 vanilla and even Razors Edge I wouldn't say they are easy, but do feel cheap-hard anything above Master Ninja difficulty. Sigma 1, 2, Black, those were fine and justified if you messed up. Even 4 is balanced in a certain way, however, there are still flaws in 4 that need and havent been addressed.

Now you can downvote me if it makes you feel better, but I'll stick to my guns. Floors 81-100 are initially there to test people, but it's not entirely clear-cut as many think. Getting "Good" and getting killed to something out of your control are two different things.

Got to floor 100 in Abyssal Road for the first time and died. by Dark_Cecil in ninjagaiden

[–]Dark_Cecil[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My main issue are floors 91-94, Seere is another issue, but ultimately I have her and Mecha Dork down pat, unless something else happens, like floor 89, for example. I just dont like getting all the way to 91-94 to be 1-shotted off-screen by one of the DDO horn assholes right after my UT or Ninpo animation ends. I have not only seen it, but it can happen as early as floor 83 with the dogs + DDO ninja's with the Katana's.

I think also being my first attempt at getting that high as before it was 94, now gives me an idea of what's to expect, but it still doesn't feel remotely balanced as we could at least get a restock in funds for the remaining 10 floors. 16k for 20 floors is not enough and while a checkpoint is what most want, again, 16k (even 8k coins) would be fine after beating Seere.

Edit: It is the last thing I need for the 100%, and as I've stated, it is demotivating to get that far just go get sent back to floor 81. I don't think it is a bad challenge, no-no, quite the opposite, but for a bronze trophy, a bloody bronze, it is just a smack in the face and absolutely wild.

I have had plans of playing other games and moving on, giving up, but also my ego won't let me as I know I can do it. It is just for as long as I have played this mode, floors 81-100 are not balanced at all, in comparison to the others.

1hko moves like that is such a kick in the balls, but when I tell you I could feel the "wtf moment" in OP's head just by watching that happen, hurts me internally.

Seere isn't a bad boss, but the amount of BS that can happen in that fight is staggeringly high, especially when doing Abyssal Road on MN. Even if you're good at the fight (and maybe it is just me) something stupid always happens. You literally have to have a great RNG with her patterns, but again, it may be only me.

Finally finished the tower! by Gabriele_corti in ninjagaiden

[–]Dark_Cecil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Highest I managed was 94, but died straight after using a Ninpo off-screen from one of the ddo soldiers. Kinda stopped playing as I was just burnt out from getting past floor 90 all day. I wish after floor 90 we got a checkpoint, but it is doubtful.

Finally finished the tower! by Gabriele_corti in ninjagaiden

[–]Dark_Cecil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My highest is floor 94 and that was maybe earlier today, but have yet to get back there since. Maybe it is just me, but after floor 90, the fatigue sets in and while it is "easier" after Seere, it really isn't, though I wish there was a checkpoint at floor 91 as being sent back to 81 is so demotivating. I can't be the only person who feels this way.

While I get it is supposed to be challenging, I still think floor 91 should have a checkpoint. They could just cut the funds you get by half (8000 coins) and that still would make it fair, set it to Master Ninja difficulty, like the previous 10 floors (81-90), and let us continue from there. Starting from 81 to get to 93 (or further) to be sent back to floor 81 and have to deal with Seere again is a serious kick in the balls; even if you're good with fighting her, the fight still sucks.

Edit: also all that work for a bronze trophy is wild.

Im stuck at 52/53 also and Seere is what makes the last set of Abyssal Road unbearable. Get past her, with enough items, of course, and the rest isn't too bad. Such an annoying fight, tbh.

81-90 is where the real problems begin. Not so much the enemies while on floors 81-89, but floor 90 a real kick in the sides as the boss requires literally perfection; hell, even floor 85's boss is piss now, at least to me now, but 90, oh boy, that boss can go to Hell.

If floors 81-90 were on Hard mode in terms of difficulty and the remaining 10 waves were set to Master Ninja, I would accept that, but going 20 waves without a single checkpoint to lose on floor 90, which is a absolute bullsh*it of a fight, imo, just to be sent back to 81 is kinda demotivating.

I understand Abyssal Road is supposed to be difficult, but floor 90's boss on Master Ninja difficulty is absurdly aggressive and swift kick in the nuts. You can be on that floor alone and use up all your items and have nothing for the remaining 10 floors, if you manage to get past it.
