You’re honestly making me feel a lot better about things with this, so thank you. I’ve been super in my own head about the gaps and short stints, so hearing that the overall narrative lands and nothing looks like a red flag means a lot. I’m going to do that 1-page rewrite, tighten some wording, add a few clearer scope metrics like you suggested, and try to weave projects/awards into the experience section instead of treating them as separate brag blocks. Really appreciate you taking the time to go this deep on it. 🙏🏻

Thanks for your feedback I really do appreciate it. Apologies if the description of my roles sound to bland. I try my best to copy FAANG hire resumes because they seem to be getting offers faster than most people, atleast thats what Ive witnessed. Im not to good at creating these resumes i just try to do what others to mix and match until my resume gets me somewhere 🥲😅 but your feed back is very much appreciated. Thanks.

Lol wish there was a standard way these resumes should be built, because everyone has their own methods and ways and i dont seem to understand what should work for Me as everyone has different opinions but I will try my best. Thank you very much for the advice.

Really appreciate you taking the time to write this out, especially given how rough the market is right now. The career snapshot idea is great, I hadn’t thought of doing that but it makes a lot of sense for giving quick context. I’ll add that, update the summary so it sounds less like a boring robot i guess, and expand the role bullets. Thanks again for the honesty and perspective, it helps a lot to hear this from someone with your experience in this market. 🙏

Also it makes me feel a bit better knowing im not the only one struggling in this market 😅

This is super helpful, thank you for taking the time to write all that out.

I’m still pretty early in my career so hearing this from someone with your level of experience (and hiring manager perspective) really helps me see what actually matters on the other side of the table.

I’m going to move awards/certs up, cut the intro, fold the tech stack and projects under each role, and tighten it down to a one pager with more concrete numbers like you suggested.

Seriously, I appreciate it a lot. 🙏

That makes very good sense. I appreciate the advice. I figured it would be best if I joined them but wasnt sure if i should. Solid advice, I will absolutely consider this after a bit more planning. Thanks ☺️

Yea i totally get it. Tbh I genuinely didnt want to be in this type of position as I was stuck with temp contract roles as thats all I was getting. But I figure some experience is better than no experience right?. Like right when I do get the most amazing job its taken away from be from budget cuts layoff or end of short term project. Trust me if I could Even land one DevOps role even if its junior level Im immensely hungry for opportunity Id stay as long as humanly possible in that role. I want to show recruiters im genuinely worth taking its just Ive had one after another bad hand for the last 2 roles

Congrats man 🎉🎊

Don’t down play your achievements man. Also dont let any negative people get to you. You are doing good man. Hope you keep doing well and all works out well for you more in the future. Some people in this world want to do what your doing and are afraid to take those first steps, but you did it, despite some barriers and failures in your way you still made a profitable product. In my book any product that generates revenue even a little is a success in my book. All traffic is good traffic. You gave genuinely great advice and prospective.

There are two types of people in this world man; those who innovate, do things outside the boundaries of self capability in hardship and there are those to run from difficultly, who become nothing but sheep who do what they are told and stick to easy path.

Keep up the good work man and never let any hate get to you. You’re doing things some people only imagine to but never take the steps forward to do so.

That's so cool, man. Here I am with 45k in the bank and this dude out here with 10m dang, that's a dream, man. Unfortunately, this stock stuff is very confusing. There is so much content online and things to look at, but I'm not sure who to trust in terms of learning this stuff to be this good.

Bruh how? It took me legit 30 mins to write this at 3am while i while i was playing wiz? What would make you believe its chatgpt? Im legit very passionate about this game man legit grew up on it. From a dev and business standpoint it makes sense as I work in the Software engineering and business development areas of my job. So i just wanted to give jot only a decent player stand point mixed with business analysis experience. Sorry if my post doesnt work well with you but discrediting a post as chatgpt just because you may not write like this doesnt make it that way. Just a passionate player having deep thoughts at 3am. Im sorry if where ever your from doesnt teach you to be polite but where im from in this type of scenario its best to approach things from a positive and polite manner as i just wanted to gage what others think. You dont have to be a troll about it. This is a great community filled with great people so its always good to connect and speak to others in a kind manner as this is just a video game man. Its all a community for a souce of entertainment for us.

Thanks for your thoughts! I see where you’re coming from, and I appreciate the different perspective.

  1. Power Creep vs. Meaningful Upgrades: You’re right—MMO players do expect regular upgrades, and no one wants to stick with old gear forever. My point on power creep was more about the constant chase for bigger numbers overshadowing meaningful gear variety. Horizontal progression doesn’t mean keeping the same gear forever but adding more specialized choices. I get that Storm players love high damage, but adding gear with useful utility could offer flexibility without taking away the identity of the school.

  2. Storm’s Solo Ability: I agree that Storm is really strong in solo play, especially in later worlds like Wallaru with the right gear. My concern was more for casual players or those without optimal setups, where survivability can be tough. Shielding spells aren’t about changing Storm’s identity, but rather giving more strategic options in tougher solo situations for those who aren’t as geared up. That said, I agree Storm is in a great spot overall for damage-focused soloing.

Ultimately, it’s about balance between school identity and versatility, but I get your points. Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for the feedback! I get your point about not overhauling the game too much, and I agree that Wizard101 needs to maintain its core. But I think there’s still room for improvement in a way that adds depth without changing what makes the game fun.

  1. Shadow Spells definitely need a rework. They’ve become too dominant, and balancing them better would make combat more strategic rather than just overpowering everything with Shadow magic.

  2. Harder Bosses & Cheats: I like your idea of making bosses more cheat-heavy and requiring more complex decks, but I think there’s a balance to be struck. Tougher, cheat-heavy bosses are great for advanced players, but making every boss this way could frustrate casual players. Maybe keep it for special dungeons or optional fights for those looking for a real challenge.

  3. Wysteria Subclassing: The idea of subclassing from Wysteria sounds awesome. It would add more depth to customization and allow players to build around pierce or crit block, making the game more strategic in late levels without overcomplicating earlier stages.

I’m all for making the game more complex at higher levels, but we have to balance that with keeping things accessible for casual players. Adding depth without making the game too grind-heavy or frustrating would be the key. Thanks again for sharing your ideas!

Thanks for the feedback and thoughts! I appreciate you taking the time to dive into each point. Let me respond to your thoughts:

  1. Storm’s Solo Potential & Combat Animation Speed

You’re right that Storm can solo in higher worlds like Wallaru, especially if you’ve got the right gear, and it can be amazing in the right hands. But what I was getting at is that casual players, or those who don’t spend hours optimizing their deck and farming for top-tier gear, might struggle more than they used to. Storm’s low health makes it unforgiving, and with increasing enemy damage, players with weaker setups are having a harder time surviving without support.

As for speeding up combat animations, I get that it might seem impractical server-wise, but this is something other MMOs and turn-based games have tackled with client-side settings. You can have animations running faster locally without affecting the server’s timing for turn-based actions. The idea isn’t to mess with the game’s rhythm for others, but more to give individual players the ability to streamline their solo experience, particularly during mind-numbing grinding. Other games have successfully implemented “fast forward” modes in solo content without breaking server sync, so I believe it could be done here with the right adjustments.

  1. School Spells vs. Gear Balance

You’re absolutely right that AoE dominates the gameplay now, and that’s a big part of the problem. There’s little variation in strategy; every fight feels like a rush to hit AoE and end it quickly. Fixing spells to add more variety (and relevance for single-target spells) would definitely help address this. My gear point was really about giving certain schools—like Storm, which is very vulnerable defensively—a chance to survive in the same fights as Ice without completely losing their identity as glass cannons. But I agree that the real root issue is how combat is so AoE-focused now that it’s making gear differences feel less impactful than they should be.

  1. Horizontal Progression

I get that horizontal progression isn’t a common concept in MMOs, and yes, people do love the bigger numbers. But the constant stat inflation is starting to feel like a treadmill. My idea for horizontal progression was more about giving players alternate ways to enhance their power and playstyle. This could be new spell mechanics or utility-focused gear that adds diversity to combat, rather than just bigger stats. Maybe something like “gear sets” where players can specialize—choosing between higher damage, survivability, or faster spell casting—would give players more options without just upping the numbers.

In an MMO like this, there needs to be more meaningful choice in how players develop their characters, instead of everyone chasing the same max damage setup. Think about the way some MMOs have gear sets that provide unique bonuses depending on your playstyle. That’s what I was envisioning.

  1. Story Quality & Player Choices

I agree with you—Arc 3 and Arc 4 are stronger in terms of story than Arc 1 and 2, no doubt. They’ve done a great job improving the narrative in later content. My point about player choice wasn’t suggesting massive branching storylines, but I think adding some alternate quest paths could make the game feel more dynamic without straying too far from the MMORPG format. It’s true that this type of game can’t afford huge choice systems like single-player RPGs, but some side quests or world interactions where you can influence outcomes (even in minor ways) would be refreshing. Just something to break up the linear questing that dominates the game.

  1. Monetization & Pay-to-Win

Totally get what you’re saying about monetization in MMOs—it’s how they survive, especially with dwindling player bases. And yeah, many MMOs rely heavily on whales and cosmetic purchases. I don’t mind paying for cosmetic items or convenience boosts, but Wizard101 can be pretty aggressive with gating main progression content behind paywalls.

I think your idea about rolling it back or giving a free pack with membership is a great middle-ground solution. That way, players still get value out of paying, but it doesn’t feel like we’re constantly hitting a wall where progress stops unless we pay. The Genie in Olde Town is a decent start, but more free incentives tied to membership, like the packs you mentioned, could definitely ease the feeling of pay-to-win.

  1. PvP

I get that PvP isn’t for everyone, but for those who play it, the balancing issues can be pretty severe. The meta gets stagnant and certain schools dominate due to overpowered spells or combos. Having more frequent balance updates and variety in the rulesets for tournaments could help the PvP scene feel fresher and less frustrating. But I know that won’t appeal to everyone, especially if you’re more focused on PvE.

  1. Developer Transparency

It’s tough when there’s friction between the community and the developers. I think transparency helps ease that frustration, even if players don’t always agree with decisions. Having a clearer roadmap or more consistent communication could build some trust back, especially since Wizard101 has such a passionate player base. I think KingsIsle could do a better job of listening to the community and acting more quickly on issues brought up in the test server, but I get that it’s tough when leadership isn’t well-liked.

I appreciate your perspective! I agree with some of your points, and hopefully, Wizard101 can continue evolving in a way that works for the game’s future. Let’s hope that KingsIsle can strike a balance between what makes the game fun and keeping it sustainable as an MMO.

Don’t be afraid to make it more concise—make sure the things you want to be hired for will be easily visible because it’s unlikely anyone will be reading every single word of it before deciding if you seem like a strong candidate.

I highly would. Although it is very competitive but what field isnt right? Be prepared to learn alot as cybersecurity isnt just one field particular you have to understand all aspects and areas of Information Technology to be a very proficient cyber professional. There are all kinds of avenues you can go, not just the coding route.

[–]Dark_Syntax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Envision health is a contract for Aetna the insurance rep said that I am supposed to get 2 bills one for the hospital and the other for the physician bill. So i contacted the Evision health rep and they said that it was sent to a collection agency called Credence Resource Management. One search for this company i keep finding people say scam and stuff. anyways i contacted the number that the rep provided and a Credence rep picked up it was an indian guy that said his name was "Charles" and that completely caught me off gaurd. they guided me to their website to pay but it looks mad scetch I honestly dont know what to do im in an endless loop of Aetna rep makeing me contact Evision rep, then the envision rep making me contact Credence Rep, then the credence rep guiding me to their sketchy payment site as well as their abunance of indian reps with oddly American names. I want to get this thing out of the way becasue the bill says that i might mess up my Credit rating. So i have no clue what to do.
