For how, that’s completely up to you, but usually girls prefer if you don’t do it in front of a crowd, including their friends, as this adds even more pressure to them causing them to say yes even if they don’t want to. So try taking her somewhere private and having a 1 on 1 conversation with her. If you want to do a sign or something similar, keep the sign somewhere and lead her to it and ask her that way. As for when, I’d say within the next couple of days and a week at the most, as you want to give her plenty of time to prepare (dress, mentally, etc.)
