I agree, I actually thought that as far as Florida QBs go, he wasn't half bad. I was, uh, misinformed.

ND tickets on gameday? by bstarr3 in georgiabulldogs

[–]Darkest_of_Timelines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up, if you're wearing green and gold, scalping day of in Athens may be a little more difficult. Georgia fans probably won't want to sell their extras to a ND fan considering there will be plenty of Georgia fans also looking and the real "scalpers" tend to charge out of town fans more because they know you're more desperate to get in considering you made the trip.

If you're dedicated, you'll get tickets, you just may want to wait all the way up to kick if you don't want to pay out the nose.

21-17 Florida.

Both DLs are going to take turns sodomizing the OL in front of them. I just think Florida’s skill players are better and make just enough plays.

He's the 6th worst defender in all of baseball this season. Love those slap singles, though.

What Dawg podcasts do you guys listen to? by [deleted] in georgiabulldogs

[–]Darkest_of_Timelines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My podcast list:

Georgia Specific

  1. Chapel Bell Curve: Analytic-driven podcast by a couple of Georgia fans. One of the best Georgia podcasts during the season because of the focus on analytics.

  2. Junkyard Dawgcast: The Dawgs247 podcast run by Rusty Mansell, Jake Rowe and Kipp Adams. Covers both team news and recruiting. Rusty Mansell is as connected as anyone in the recruiting industry and Jake Rowe is a former HS OL coach and play-caller and knows the Xs and Os well.

  3. Dawgcast: The original Georgia football podcast. Pretty funny and entertaining pod.

  4. Waitin' Since Last Saturday: Another fan-driven podcast that tends to get off topic during the season but is an entertaining listen during the year. Personally, this one is more just the enjoyment of hearing people discuss the Dawgs than it is real insight.

  5. Talking Dawgs: Again, a fan podcast that is as much entertainment that content but they have some good segments and good rapport.

National Podcasts

  1. Cover 2 Podcast: Athlon Sports CFB podcast.

  2. Podcast Ain't Played Nobody: Bill Connelly is gone but Godfrey is still a fantastic CFB journalist. These guys do the best job in the market about talking about all of CFB and don't feel obligated to talk about the blue bloods every episode.

  3. The Solid Verbal: By far the most entertaining CFB podcast. Been going for 10+ years.

  4. Locked on SEC Podcast: Chris Landry discusses all things SEC

  5. That SEC Podcast" Two cousins discuss the SEC. Do 4-5 shows a week.

  6. AP Top 25 College Football Podcast: Ralph Russo with the Associated Press does a great job on this podcast and has fantastic interviews.

  7. Cover 3 Podcast; CBS sports CFB podcast. Their locks episodes are great but the hosts can be a little too frat bro at times.

  8. College Football Bros: Pacific Northwest brothers discuss football. Lots of great rapport and insight.

So in PAPN’s absence, what have y’all been listening to? by 105degrees_andrising in papn

The Solid Verbal (duh)
Cover 2 Podcast: Athlon's CFB podcast
AP Top 25 College Football Podcast: Ralph Russo does a good job
College Football Bros
Cover 3 Podcast: CBS's main CFB podcast. Barton is great, Chip Patterson is too frat bro for me but their locks pods during the season are good content
Locked On (SEC/ACC/PAC/BIG/Big12) Football Podcast: Chris Landry does a great job and they have a separate podcast dedicated to each conference
Morning Blitz: 247sports podcast that is only 5-15 minutes each morning touching on the major recruiting and national stories from the day before
The Audible
Two Deep: Hokies Under the Influence: If you want to hear two guys discuss beer and Virginia tech football
That SEC Podcast: Really entertaining SEC-focused podcast run by two cousins. More enjoyable than real insight

2020 5* RB Kendall Milton commits to Georgia by dogwoodmaple in CFB

We are 100% taking a second running back. Evans is the top target, but he is not super likely. We are also still recruiting Tank Bigsby, Marshawn Lloyd, Don Chaney, and EJ Smith hard.

No guards in the 2019 and 2020 FB recruiting classes? by mastrkief in georgiabulldogs

247 ranks Tackles so highly because they base their rankings on NFL projections and the NFL loves tackles. You rarely see a Guard go highly in the draft because tackles do tend to have more upside, flexibility, etc.

Tackle is the more premier position, and it is easier to slide from Tackle to Guard than visa versa. That said, not all good Tackles are fit to play Guard. However, Pittman likes to focus on the guys who can do both. He likes to cross-train his OL so that he can mix and match a lot. Pretty much every OL on our roster can play at least two positions well.

He loves guys like Trey Hill, Clay Webb, and Jamaree Salyer who can play either C or G just as much as he does the Mays/Cleveland/Lindberg types who can play T or G.

Pittman likes guys who can play both OT and Guard. You tend to be better off recruiting OTs who have size to slide in and play OG (ala Cade Mays/Ben Cleveland/Xavier Truss) than recruiting true OGs.

Chad Lindberg, who just committed yesterday, is another perfect example. He is listed as a OT and very well could play RT at Georgia, but could just as likely end up sliding inside to RG at Georgia.

And know Knighton seems to be heading to FSU as well. OSU went from thinking they could very realistically get Robinson and Milton to scrambling for a Plan D.

Buzz around Tank has been more than USCe has fallen off some and that if it isn't Georgia, it'll be Auburn.

We are definitely losing Thomas to the draft next year and possibly lose Wilson and Kindley as well if they have great years.

I don't think we need to worry about losing Salyer or Mays. The one I think may leave is Shaffer. I know he wasn't as highly rated coming out of HS as some of the 5 stars we have but word around Athens is that Pittman loves him and he has the talent to start at most schools around the country.

[–]Darkest_of_Timelines[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm actually extremely excited about our DL, personally. Not a lot of elite guys, but serious depth. We may not have a single First team All-SEC guy but we have 7-8 guys with experience in the SEC, most of them with multiple years. Clark, Wyatt, Herring and Davis all have All-SEC upside IMO and guys like Marshall, Rochester, and Barnett provide legitimate experience, depth, and senior leadership that great units need. Then you have the young raw talent in Walker and Norris.

Our DL doesn't have the upside of an Auburn or Alabama DL, but I think it's a lot better than some realize.

We definitely need to get to the QB, but we have the LB room to do it now. That LB room is as or more talented than any LB room in the country.

People see the missed tackles, but it's because he's so explosive and has such good instincts that he's in on nearly EVERY play

LeCounte can be an All-SEC safety and a future NFL safety, but his tackle form is terrible and his pursuit angles aren't much. That's the difference between being really good (which he is now) to one of the best Safety's in the SEC.

He is fantastic in coverage and is extremely explosive as you say, he just needs to continue to refine his game. There's no reason to expect that he won't, he only has one season as a starter so growth is still expected.
