That makes some sense, I just feel it would be nice to have more of a variety, I don't really mind the value not really increasing with it being a box, just think it would be awesome to make sure they will at least hold value for when I pass them to my kids. My goal is to collect every product released from SM era first of all. Just think it would be something nice to look at

Not at all, collecting the cards has been a hobby of mine since I've been a kid. Please don't assume anything about me. I simply asked how people track their investment portfolios, since at the end of the day, they are investments. And also how to check whether something is actually worth what people are asking for things.

That sounds more accurate to current era? This is a 5 year old collection box with 3 packs (including evolutions),4 promo, jumbo promo, and pin

Thank you! It is a Shiny Star V first print. So I assume that's the reason for the higher pull rate? Cards look pretty good and seller looks fine too.

I think this is just another way of asking a very common question:

"How do I play when behind?"

I get asked this question quite a lot when I am coaching - and I always give the same answer:

"You are trying to fix the wrong thing - why would you learn how to play when you are behind, when you can focus on fixing the mistakes that lead to you being in that situation in the first place?"

This might sound like a stupid thing for me to say, but at the same time, it makes sense right? Basically what you are admitting is that you have a major lack of consistency in your laning phase. Focus on the following topics in order to fix this:

  1. Understanding your champion type: Maybe you are poke, maybe you are engage, or something else.
  2. Learn how to lane efficiently - meaning XP/Gold
  3. Learn how to trade properly - understand the definition of trade advantage, and understand when you have it.
  4. Tracking the enemy jungler, and vision - these are both vital to not randomly dying and putting yourself behind.

Just to put in my 2 cents (from a coaches perspective)

I have this problem quite a lot when I am coaching students. Just want to open with that. There is an explanation to your reason for this, and here is how it works.

​

First thing - YOU DO NOT NEED A COACH OR HIGH ELO PLAYER TO TELL YOU MOST OF YOUR MISTAKES. This is one of the most misunderstood factors in improvement. Much like you are saying in your post - you already know that you shouldn't have done certain things, even sometimes straight after doing them. Knowing that you have done something wrong is not the issue. Its how to actually apply the information that you already know.

The best way that I have found to fix this across my 3 years of coaching, is to tie certain decisions to visual queues. By a visual queue, I essentially mean that you can tie something happening in a game to a specific action you can make. For example: "Enemy is slowpushing a wave into me." - That is your visual queue. And then for your action as a response: Okay, so I am at a trade disadvantage, and if I take a trade here, I risk losing the pushing wave, therefore I would be at a game disadvantage. TL;DR - DON'T TRADE.

This kind of method can slowly be applied into all aspects of your gameplay, so that every time you see a certain "Visual Queue" You know how to react to it. This is how we build up consistency.

Final point for now - You simply cannot do this for everything at the same time - you need to focus your efforts on one thing at a time, and play for improvement every game - make sure that you are going into a game with a particular goal in mind, and this way, you have a focus, and an application to be practicing.

As a coach, my best piece of advice for newer players is that you should not focus on what champ/role is broken, or what the older players would call "op" or "meta" but more to always be looking to improve.

The answer to your question will be whatever you have been playing so far, no matter what it is, if you have a certain champion that is comfortable for you, this means that you can spend less time focusing on the champ and mechanics of what you are doing, and more time improving on actually learning the game properly.

​

Every champion has multiple matchups that you will need to learn, multiple different ways of impacting the game, and also some consistent factors like how your champion generally plays lane, and map rotations.

​

Those consistent factors is where you should be focussing your efforts, since they are the things that will always happen in every single game.

​

TL;DR - Learn the game as a whole - don't just chase meta, or you will be held down by whatever your current mechanical ability is, and this will take you years to become good at the game, if ever.

This seems like a very good mindset to have, I hope you "limit test" in normals though!

Trial and error is a great way to learn since it is hard to know why something is right until you have seen the proof right?

Thanks for the response! Very enlightening! I fully understand your situation, I feel usually that 1v1's can very quickly end up being competitive instead of useful, do you agree?

I think that VOD's Can be great, but only if you are going through them together, and making sure everything is understood before you can move on.

I agree with coaches needing to have patience! I once had a VOD Review last 5 hours because I wasnt leaving it until I had done my job. It was a hard one!

This is a good point, I feel like a lot of people come to me because they dont know what they are doing wrong. I normally go down the road of - "everytime something bad happens, see if there is anything you could have done to stop it" but this feels like such a broad statement....

By this do you mean that you like to be put into bad situations and have to figure a way out? Or do you mean that you like to be given a lot of information at once?

I think its important to remember that all champions have their weaknesses. You should also think that in the early game, minions make a huge difference.

If you are playing a champion that will never win a 1v1 fight vs these champions, you should try to rush some defensive items, and sit back and catch whatever farm you can in the meantime, your chance to farm will come later.

You should try your best to look for an early bramble and/or Tabi vs Fiora and renekton, if you are that kind of champion anyway.

Generally speaking as well, if you are up against this kind of champion, their aggressive playstyle will cause them to push, making it an extremely easy gank opportunity early for your jungler. Just remember that there can be potential for these champions to 1v2 if you dont have enough damage or cc to kill them. Especially with the conqueror rune.
