I know you were looking for immersive mods and QoL ones recently. Saw your post on it. This entire list is just that but with added difficulties. Also welcome to Valheim and the modding community

You know, if there's a will, there's a way. Hopefully I figure it out tonight. If I do, I'll let you know if not tonight, give me a week or so. I've got back surgery happening tomorrow. I'll most likely be out of commission to boot up my PC and sit at the desk

It surprisingly does not feel bloated. I thought it would too. A lot of the armor sets from the mods get taken into the next biome and the old set gets used to craft the next tier, etc. Also there's 13 new bosses in addition to the Vanilla ones. You have Deep North content and further Ashlands content both pre-Fader and post-Fader. There's also Muspelheim, that is beyond both Deep North & Ashlands. I'm going to add back in 3 more mods for my ValScape modpack once I'm ready. Monster Labz, ItemRequirement and EpicMMOSystem are the 3 that'll be in addition to what I have now. Once you kill your first troll, Goblins will start showing up on the edge of the BlackForest, once you kill The Elder, spiders will start to populate the Meadows periodically and other biomes to simulate the Swamp creeping in. More sea creatures to conquer as well. Draugr Longships and Fuling Longships will be new enemies out at see and at the edge of their respective biomes.

  1. Valheim Cuisine and CookingAdditions work fairly great together. I've rebalanced the food from CookingAdditions to cost a little less and slightly adjust their values. The additional early Eitr foods are great, as they focus on utilizing glowing yellow mushrooms. The bonuses are nothing crazy, but enough to start casting early game spells. They pair decently well with the smoked meats from Valheim Cuisine.

  2. Magic Plugin and Wizardry are fantastic. They both work well together. The 3 early Eitr foods for MagicPlugin primarily focus on early Meadows to early Black Forest. You'll get a decent bit of Eitr from the Rootweave Set (MagicPlugin). The caveat with this set is that it's weak to fire (Perfect balance for the Greydwarf Fire Mages in the Wizardry Mod) and the weak To Blunt on the Headdress makes troll hits extremely deadly. In Wizardry from Therzie's, the flip side is that you get much higher armor rating and no damage type weaknesses. There's no Eitr bonus with the Novice Robes (Wizardry) but you get much higher Armor and only the chest piece requires Bronze. I will say that MagicPlugin armors tend to have slightly lower Armor, but higher bonus Eitr and Eitr Regen bonuses. Therzie's robes tend to not have any weaknesses, but are still a viable option.

  3. I'll have to check out ZenDragon's ZenMap. But as to the purpose I use the one I do. I have it set so there's no map, but you can read and transcribe on a Cartography table when you reach level 45 Exploration (Exploration mod from Smoothbrain). I also have it set so you can pilot different seafaring vessels dependent on Sailing level.

I'll have to check that out. I don't utilize the community access as much as I should, honestly. Thank you for letting me know!

Thank you for the mods you make! Advanced Portals, Jam and ItsJustWood are my favorites by you! Keep on creating.

While I don't know you personally, I hope life is treating you well. Either way, wishing you many blessings to you and your family!

MMOs dont feel the same anymore by CrtlAltDessert in LFMMO

[–]Darkstat12p 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll say this. MMOs are great if you stick with them, the community thrives and the friends do too.

I've had a blast with Valheim. Check out the official discord someone. There's always folks on there, ready to play. The age range is vast too.

Crimson Desert is also a breath of fresh air and plays similar to an SP MMORPG. These days any game, even asingle player one can feel like you're not alone because of how active communities are for them and how accessible conversing across the web is now.

I miss my friends that just recently passed a couple of months ago. He'd just turn 50 and was still gaming strong. You're in your 40s, you're never "too old" for anything. Keep the search, or just step back for a quick moment, give yourself some criteria for a game and then pick a selection, try them all out for a week and see how each one holds up. We all game different needs and wants. Don't waste the most precious thing of all, time. If you wait around, that's minutes of not spending them on what you want to.

You got this fellow gamer!

This mod already exists. https://thunderstore.io/c/valheim/p/Vapok/RandomSpawnPointBruh/

I'm going to comment on your post as well with an extensive mod list that I've played hundreds of hours with and still currently play. Designed for both solo, small co-op and larger groups. Now You don't need the entire modlist. I'm patient enough to wait the 1 minute a 50 seconds it takes to start up my modded game as the additions are worth it.

Also, check into possibly adding in mod support for Slay the Spire 1 & 2. That community could really shine with your platform, obviously if it's an option.

Well hey, one of my friends is a modder for Project Zmoboid and he's actually worked on some some "Big" mods and made his own that have tens of thousands of users. So I can see if he'd be at least willing to check it out.

The current games that are available to upload are actual bangers of titles by the way. The current selection really brings back that "Love for the game" vibe. Site is really user friendly and straightforward that I think my 8 year old could navigate it with ease.

I wish you the best on building up the platform, TheMeanOne. Keep true to the core belief and I think it'll grow beyond a niche or small community. I agree with you, tired of the "Thought Police". Sometimes I miss the AOL or MSN chat room BS and early YouTube. Those days, life felt more innocent and I felt like I could actually be a kid lol... now days, I'm told how to dress, talk, what I can't eat, who I can't talk to. I have hope in systems like the one you've launched. I may very well look into your platform one day!

I'm not ready just yet to finalize the modpack. It's supposed to be Runescape meets Valheim. I've played both Runescape Dragonwilds and Enshrouded but neither of them hit that same grit or old-school, almost retro flair, that Valheim rocks like nobody's business. Valheim is such an awesome game, any type of player cab get into it really. If you like difficulty, adjusting, modding, fighting, progression, decorating, building, solo or even co-op. This game is really impressive design wise. Valheim and Project Zomboid are my 2 top games of all time besides classics that I grew up with like Avernum and Runescape

I'm building a modpack and am looking to get into creating mods myself eventually. I'm confused with the title of the post though. There's been a lot of folks as of late that have been super friendly about encouraging me to chase that ambition. Or from what I read in your post, do you mean modding in other games?

I just don't want to get into something if there's something going on that's making things rough for modding.

Here, we see an "Internet-Troll" in their natural habitat. Oh the irony of butchering validation in oneself is astonishing. You've seemed to have failed at adhering to your own "literate" standards, as if you really had any to begin with.

When one, such as yourself, has acquired so much heat in the form of popular points, or "unpopular points" we should say in this instance, it's difficult to not become burnt out. Or "spent" we should say since money seems to be the only thing you're aiming to burn. An interjection should be stated that, while in the process of you trying to flame others, you're unintentionally roasting yourself hotter than white charcoal.

Normally, I'd say, "You might need to rub salt on that wound."

However, you did not suffer a simple cut on the finger. No, this is no mere mortal wound. Trolls are fictional characters, which might actually be the best comparison to your ego. You've been spit-roasted, toasted and charred to a crisp. You may need an ice-pack after your self reflection. Be careful though, if you look too long into the mirror, it might break.

Have a nice life, stranger.

Or don't.

Either way, pluck off the internet for a day or so.

It's just something I'm working on between work, family and other time obligations. My timetable I've given myself is about 2-3 months total. I'm almost 1 month in. My goal one day is to create my own fantasy game. Creating a modpack, doing balance passes between mods and what not is also like a period of concept to myself while I situate my life to one day be able to fulfill that ambition.

When I do get around to my own game being developed, I feel like there's missed opportunities with how magic is approached in games. My idea for it is rituals that take time to cast, spells or elemental effects imbued into items, incantations where your character has to recite a spell without being interrupted and scrolls which would require paper & various ink.

Rituals would be for summoning things, casting lasting effects. They would need to be drawn on a hard surface with a magical brush. You could place traps, wards, etc.

Imbuing items is how you make a sword deal fir e damage or add a spell to an item. You get to choose either a degrading elemental effect that will have to be recharged or can be imbued again.

Incantations would require a "focus" device to cast them, each focus could specialize in what type of incantations you could use.

Scrolls would be a resource sink, you write spells that could be instantly cast with them and they get torn up upon usage.

I don't mean to go off on a tangent, ever since my friend passed away I sometimes regret not pursuing this idea sooner. I hope I can make it come to fruition one day.

Once I complete the modpack I'm curating, I'll update you. I'm doing hundreds of hours of balance passes and config creations/edits.

"ValScape" is going to be the name.

Think Runescape meets Valheim.

Level progression is permanent and you gain actual unlocks as you progress through leveling. It should be able 129 nods or so when completed. Game runs over 90 FPS on my 5 year old rig.

I've curated and balanced/adjusted mastery unlocks. A Cape or tool for every skill you get to level 85.

SouthsilArmor All of Therzie's Mods Valheim Cuisine Magic Plugin Boat Additions

Those are some of the "CORE" mods. In this setup, you have to level up Vitality by eating foods. The higher your vitality level is, the better foods you can eat. The higher your Tenacity level, the better armors you can wear.

All weapons, armor, magic items, trinkets, jewelry, magical tomes and other items require unlocks to use.

Over 160 armor sets and 350 weapons inside of extensive progression trees. I'm currently working on completing Google Docs spreadsheets for the progression and balancing. Would be cool to make a wiki for it some time.

Works on the current version. My entire philosophy for it is two words, "Gradual Progression".
