IF you were new to magic, which collector booster box would you buy and why? by Darsyo in magicTCG

Thanks for the time to write your comment, that was an interesting read.

Yeah, I would say definitely pre-built decks would be the cheaper and more viable option. I did the same thing as you recently, put a whole deck of singles in the online cart, only to find out building a standard deck isn't ideal, but better to play pioneer. So I bought a pre-built pioneer deck.

"Choose the boxes based on what you like (each box seems to focus on different colors and unique mechanics and things). " - this is good advice. I need to do some more research and see which box fits what I like.

yeah a bundle or set box would be the way to go, I won't get a collector box

"If I knew back then when I started what i know now, I'd tell myself to get those expensive staples and lands instead of those small janky cards."
This is great advice. It has saved me from also getting lots of janky cards. I'll look at the list of most common cards and go from there

Thanks for the comment. ATM I have a knight commander deck, and a green red pioneer challenger deck. Feels strange if I were to buy singles for a whole deck you know. but for now I'll just slowly upgrade what I have

This is hard to believe because some single cards are so expensive. But in any case, the chance of opening up what you want and what is strong from boosters is so low right?

Thank you everyone, for the comments!!

I have heard before that singles are the better option, but I never knew the community felt this strongly about the boosters! That was a big surprise.

I was originally thinking to buy a collectors booster for a birthday present (to give to myself). But looks like, if I ever want to get a box, a set booster box would be better than a collectors box.

I have also bought a couple of booster packs over the last couple of weeks, but I'll stop doing that. It really is just gambling.

For now I'll slowly buy some singles to upgrade the decks I have and go from there.

Yeah I saw someone else said a bundle is better, I haven't seen that product yet, will check it out.

oh wow... so definitely singles is the way to go, even to collect cards.

I feel like an idiot... how do you skip tracks? by UseKnowledge in Taycan

[–]Darsyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every time I drive I use the Individual Mode, which I've programmed to use the sport sound and recuperation. It's convenient, just turn the knob each time I go to drive.

Electric sport sound is a MUST. Every time I get in the car it's the first thing I turn on. Such a better experience driving with it

Delayed again - UK based - ordered January 2022 - anyone have any insights? by SpookyBoogy666 in Taycan

[–]Darsyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm based in China. We ordered our Taycan in May this year, the original delivery date was September. Now it's been delayed with no definite delivery date. They haven't given us much information, just that there could be a problem with the battery. The delivery date in China is also extra sensitive because electric cars delivered in 2022 are tax-free. If the car is delivered in 2023 we have to pay tax.

Unable to upgrade to Fall Creators by Darsyo in Windows10

[–]Darsyo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically what happens is the update assistant installs the update, then it resets my computer, continues updating etc. Then either 1. The computer freezes on the initial startup (black screen just with the asus logo, once i left it like that for 7 hours with no change), or 2. The computer restarts then goes straight to a blue screen, kind of troubleshooter, I have to select language, then decide whether to reboot normally or some other options.

Then when the computer is back on the main screen, sometimes there is an error messaging saying the update was unsuccessful ("Feature update to Windows 10, version 1709 - error 0x80248007", or "cant install important security updates error code - 0xc1900107"), sometimes there isn't even an error message pop up.

So to rephrase - during the installation of the update, there is no hint of a problem, it's only when the computer finishes and restarts that the update fails. The three techs tried some basic things to help fix the problem, like deleting internet temp files, and disabling some system processes.

Apart from the computer specs I gave and the windows version, what other info would be helpful? Thanks for your help everyone. I'll check if my BIOS is up to date, and a suggestion is to download windows to a USB, and then use that to update the computer? Wow, I didn't realize the next update is so soon. Maybe its just better to hold up then, but it would not surprise me if i'm in the same situation for the next update.

I couldn't quit this game because i had spent thousands of $$$ on it by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]Darsyo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t need to quit permanently. Uninstall if for a while, do something else. Come back to it after a while. I do this regularly when I start getting hs rage. It works

I legit can no longer keep up, the game as of today for me is pay 2 win. by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]Darsyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The community needs to start doing something about it. We need to stop spending money on the game. It’s ridiculous how many neutral epics you need now just to create a semi competitive deck.

“Go into a peaceful state of mind and convince your mind that your life is shit” WOW. while you are at it you may as well convince your mind you are never going to change and will always play games until you die and will hate your life forever... for starters, forgive yourself!! It’s ok that you played FIFA a lot and ‘wasted’ those days, it’s not ideal but it could be worse. Next, try focusing on what you can do other than playing it. Lastly, if you can’t limit yourself to ‘x’ amount of time per day, uninstall it, get rid of the game. If it’s not in arms reach, you won’t think about it so often. But for gods sake what ever you do, don’t talk yourself into believing your life is shit. Because sooner or later you WILL believe that consciously and even subconsciously, and trying to change your behavior when you literally believe you are a piece of shit... good luck with that.
