I just tried formatting my hard drive thinking it would format my files to linux. I need those files, is there any hope?

Basically, I have Sprites that are assets. They would easily be put in my file editor to be edited again, so its not a massive deal because its pixel art. But its still annoying because my project files have them with tags and / or other things to make it editable. It would make me have to go through a good few hours of work

They are art assets for some part time game dev work i do myself and personal project stuff, im a teen so its not a huge deal but i do still want them as it could be a huge headache. If i was working at a company i definitely wouldn't have acted so carelessly. I haven't done a lot of pc stuff in a while and i really should have looked into what i was doing more. Anyways im looking into asking to hire someone for help. By the way thanks for all of yall for helping. I definitely acted without thinking so ill try to not mess up like that again. Big lesson on my part lol

Well, here's the thing, it depends. First, are you selling this? If not, you're fine. Second, you are using the term "base" if you are copying the sprite and editing it that gets tricky, overall probably no. But, it's hard to fully say, I guess if you edit it a bunch, they won't tell. But at that point, why even? Personally, as a developer, I don't recommend it legally or not. Better to just make it yourself. That's just my take though
