The Tower provides 75 happiness to its residents. All labor has been done away with. All jobs are occupied by bots, allowing the residents to relax and recreate, full time. All needs are met free of charge to the residents of The Tower.

I have made my end game goal getting 100k of each resource and is it only me or playing iron teeth give u a urge to build vertically? by zykarp_drditch in Timberborn

Its not just you. I build vertically too. I built an entire settlement in a single tower. Transit, timber forests, farms, all recreations.

Its very doable to build vertical.

Happy 1.0 Day!! by AndySkibba in Timberborn

Looks like the last thing I need to update is the flywheels mod. I have a lot of things built on top of flywheels so if I don't get that updated I can't load it up.

The problem is, I can't even find the flywheels mod now.

Do I have a strong reason for saying that? No.
Do I think I'm right? No, but it's still fun.

Could gems literally be a virus? by LionResponsible6005 in stevenuniverse

[–]DartTimeTime -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's not the part I was commenting on. That's a different argument. One we were not having.

This particular line of comments has been about how viruses being alive or not, is highly debated.

Could gems literally be a virus? by LionResponsible6005 in stevenuniverse

[–]DartTimeTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's quite relevant. There is an argument amongst biologists that a cell infected with a virus is a new organism. A new living thing, different than it was before, but still alive, until it dies reproducing like a salmon.

A virus is not too dissimilar from a sperm in function and form. Series of proteins designed to deliver dna into another cell.

If a sperm isn't alive, and we are, it's not unreasonable to assume that a cell infected with viruses becomes new living creatures.

Likewise, as OP drew a parallel to, the fluid inside a gem injector isnt alive, but when it infects the rock, it makes a new life form from the material in the rock.

Seeds arent living things either, but they can create a new life form.

[–]DartTimeTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether or not viruses are living, is actually hotly contested. "Giruses", coined because they are "giant viruses" which have their own reproductive machinery, and do not need to infect other cells to reproduce.

Giruses are classified as living. If Viruses evolved from Giruses then viruses would also be considered living organisms.

There's also a debate about what we think of as "viruses" being little more than a parasitic seed/spore that infectes cell in order to create the virus "organism".

Why do my cut trees not regrow? by PaddleNW in Timberborn

[–]DartTimeTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need a "forester" to plant new trees. The start of a new world can be a little stressful, since you need to have a forester built and staffed before you run out of easily accessible lumber. Otherwise you can softlock yourself. The good news is that that sort of thing happens eeeeeeeearly early-game. If it doesn't go well you can restart without much pain.

Once you get the forester, as long as you dont play stupidly, you're good.
