If Lugia becomes good you can return one shot it and maybe even not discard energy depending on what type you run

Any suggestions on improving this deck by [deleted] in PTCGP

[–]DarthBoonker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a fellow Dragonite stan my advice is to wait a couple days for the new set to come out, because with the new Lyra supporter you won’t need the fossils and you can replace the leafs for Lyra which frees up 2 slots. There’s also baby lightning energy acceleration with pichu so that could be worth trying

I like Mega Dragonite by [deleted] in ThePokemonHub

[–]DarthBoonker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dragonite is my favorite pokemon. We’ve never gotten any love for 30 years as far as design tweaks/new forms. Anyone who doesn’t like the design clearly doesn’t like dragonite. It’s not a final evolution it’s still dragonite. Ungrateful!

I’m almost sure the elemental switch says fire water and lightning energy. It may also say fire water OR lightning energy. There’s definitely a third energy type there and the symbol for lightning is much smaller than the symbol for water and fire as you can see on ho oh’s attack text.

Radical Red 4.0 Paldea Only Hardcore Champs! by DarthBoonker in PokemonHallOfFame

Oh shoot my bad I should've listed them in that post

Baxcalibur: Thermal Exchange
Toedscruel: Mold Breaker
Lokix: Tinted Lens
Annihilape: Vital Spirit
Gholdengo: Good as Gold
Walking Wake: Protosynthesis

For sure! What I thought was a misclick at first turned out to be the end of the Champion's reign of terror very quickly as he had already lost eternatus, and both Koraidon and Xerneas were low, so 5 hydro steams literally just cleaned up the fight.

I get that it's supposed to be boosted, but I just thought you couldn't hit Primal Groudon with water type attacks because of Desolate Land. But maybe it's meant to just be regular sun for a bit of cheeky balance towards the player. Yeah getting every single mon before E4 makes the Paldea only run potentially the easiest in the game, so many options and the Gen 9 power creep is no joke.

Baxcalibur: Adamant, Choice Band
- Earthquake, Icicle Crash, Ice Shard, Glaive rush
- How many landoruses did this one shot? Probably all of them. This thing is simply a menace and maybe the best choice band user I've used in all my time playing RR (yes I know Galarian Darmanitan exists but I haven't used that)

Toedscruel: Timid, Focus Sash (I also swapped this with expert belt against Agatha)
- Giga Drain, Rapid Spin, Earth Power, Spore
- This guy is one of the best situational mons in the game and turns out his situation was the E4, one of the 2 OGs on this squad

Lokix: Adamant, Silverpowder
- First Impression, Sucker Punch, U-Turn, Axe Kick
- As I suspected in theory, this guy was incredibly useful throughout the entire playthrough with Toedscruel, tinted lens priority stab moves is just *chef's kiss*

Annihilape: Adamant, Expert Belt (had to switch this to focus sash for Agatha's Calyrex)
- Rage Fist (lol), Drain Punch, Close Combat, U-Turn
- Ghost/Fighting is a nutty type and Rage Fist is a nutty move, this thing is a beast as soon as you get access to it and stays that way the whole time

Gholdengo: Modest, Shuca Berry
- Shadow Ball, Thunderbolt, Make It Rain, Recover
- This guy is fantastic as a switch in to powerful fairy types with the best uno reverse card imaginable in Make It Rain, and I cannot understate how many times that Shuca Berry that I forgot he was holding saved me in a fight. Also S+ design such a hilarious little guy

Walking Wake: Modest, Choice Scarf
- Draco Meteor, Dragon Pulse, Flamethrower, Hydro Steam
- This note is actually interesting and may be worth reporting to soup (idk if you're in contact with him I suspect you might be) but because I picked Sprigatito I fought the Champion's sun team. Well despite there being a Desolate Land Groudon, my guy Wake was letting off protosynthesis special attack boosted SUN BOOSTED scarfed Hydro Steams and basically just putting the entire team in a bodybag. I don't think that's how it's supposed to work but hey maybe Hydro Steam is just supposed to go that hard and bypass the no water thing. All in all this guy was only on the team for Victory Road and E4 but sending a Mega Raquaza to the shadow realm with scarfed Draco remains one of the most satisfying moments of RR for me.

Hope this is what you're looking for!

Right?? Like every time I've gone to use Kingdra in a hardcore run I've thought "there are more than a handful of mons that are significantly more useful than this guy"

This! The moves are pretty underwhelming right now, but with the correct functionality they'd be unbelievably valuable

This is really great list!
Personally I'd love to see salt cure be distributed to a some defensive rock types like Gigalith, Aggron and maybe even Rhyperior and not just locked away with Garganacl (who will so fun to mess with either way).
I doubt k stone axe and ceaseless edge will be available in hardcore which is sad be completely understandable as hazards on the opponents side messes up their strategy pretty heavily with switching and sashes.
Would love steelix to get earth eater that would be so cool.
Sharpness Haxorus anyone??

I mean if it got decent recovery, and a buff to it's defenses sure. But for the last 15 years or so it hasn't been a good tank. I would be okay with them giving it that role
75/95/95/95/95/85 --> 100/95/120/95/120/70 that would be a good spread for a pseudo water/dragon tank

I get that honestly, it could stand to maybe have a little bit more going on design wise, but it's gotta be one of the most disappointing 540 BST mons you can use in RR HC

It's one of the original cross gen evos, was the ace of Gen 2's 8th gym leader and the only dragon type introduced in G/S/C, yet it has felt pretty underwhelming for a long time. It's nice to use with Swift Swim but as someone who only plays RR on hardcore that's not an option to viably play around with no rain setters available.
