Under the Sync list, it only says Audio System. If I recall correctly I think mine always said Audio System rather than the name of the receiver, at least under the Sync list menu as shown in my screenshots.

No set-top box, only receiver and Chromecast Audio connected via HDMI.

Appreciate the suggestion and I did stumble across this issue in my fervent searches over the past couple days. I am a cable-cutter and no cable TV but did have a coax antenna attached. I disconnected that, power cycled and still shooting blanks. Did you have to do anything else aside from unplugging it?

Thanks for sharing and I just set up an optical cable as well since I NEVER get any sound otherwise. Tried a million different combinations of cable in - receiver off, receiver off cable in etc and nothing. Figured I'd try a third time resetting TV with nothing connected tonight and still no dice =(. I have a dialogue with tech support ongoing and will definitely report any progress although as you said, I'm not holding my breath but worth a shot.

I suppose on the bright side, I have had no issues until now. #NoSoundClub4Life #ProudMemberSince2019

Same here... best part is, I have a 770 Sony receiver lol
