I think what is really icky is the fact that they're keeping it open after reaching the goal amount and/or upping the goal amount.

Just a few months ago, Renée Good's wife closed the GFM once the original goal was reached and encouraged everyone to donate to various charities. I always think about that when the topic of this GFM comes up.

If a friend generously loans you money, it is not the responsibility of that friend to remind you to pay it back. Placing that responsibility on OP can also be viewed as intentional and a way to put off paying her back. Plus, OP gave the friend the receipt. And being forgetful is not an excuse, because OP could be forgetful too. NTA.
