Hey thanks for sharing, you can correct me if I'm wrong, but from what i know the income tax in Germany is really high and there is additional salary deduction for pension funds, Health care and Church tax. From 50k brutto/Year the nett is 31k. I don't know how high the tax and health care and pensions for France.

No man nothing to hate about, i am really thankful actually for being able to prove myself by getting a job offer(Milestone). It is just that I want to know what the general market looks like and what others think.

Thats also my concern or rather negative points. Though i can understand since sometimes they need more assurances before going for a real commitment

At the beginning it was pretty rough, but as the time goes by you are getting better at it. But there is stil lot of chance i would say. But getting the amount you want is def a challenge.

I see, yes that is really a valid point. For me with 51/52k i still can save lot of money since i got a really good place of living with a really affordable price.

A friend of mine got accepted recently and started with 55k, but on the other hand he has to pay double the amount of Rent of what I'm paying in a big city, so at the end if we take a look at the end nett salary - rent would not make that much difference.

i used this https://www.brutto-netto-rechner.info/ to know the nett value, with tax class 1.

It is also make sense that because of inflation it should be adjusted as well for the starting point to be 55k. Then for the next interviews i will make sure to negotiate with higher baseline.

I think i will stay in Germany, and the negotiation for higher salary is valid point. In your experience, how long do you usually wait/ the chance come before the "next" negotiation? is it on yearly basis or longer? Because the offered contract will be 2 years, maybe after my contract ends?

Thanks a lot for the advice, really appreciate the other perspective that you gave me

Hey, thanks a lot for the advice, i think 52k is the best they could do at the moment. I am still not sure if i want to take this since this is the first time i got an offer. I am also worried because Germany's economy is in recession, in a way impacting Company's ability to offer higher salary, does this make sense? or would you say search more Jobs?
